Cash in Your Coins!
Boost Your Christmas Budget or Donate to Charity!
For the last few years, my family has collected our coins throughout the year and used Coinstar to cash them in before Christmas. Then we take the cash as a family and donate it to our local church organization or to a charity.
There is a small fee for turning coins into cash with Coinstar, but to me it is worth it for the convenience and ease. No messing around with coin rolls or bank tellers, and I save myself some gas money since I am often at a store with Coinstar anyway.
Here we are cashing in our coins from this year…
Now Coinstar offers eCertificates for various retailers with NO FEE. Very cool. This year my church was even asking for gift cards as gifts for those in need, so this could be a great option.
Maybe you’re not interested in donating to charity in this way. That’s fine. Cash in your coins to help boost your Christmas budget a bit!
Options for Cashing in with Coinstar:
- Cash Voucher
- No Fee eCertificates
- Charity Donation
- Prepaid Cards – Green Dot Visa or MasterCard
According to Coinstar’s nationwide kiosk data, customers average about $56 in coins! You may have a lot more cash sitting around in coins than you thought.
I ended up with over $30 in coins this year!
Get the family together and start searching through your backpack, purse, car, and couch for coins!

I chose to do this sponsored post for Coinstar because I really do use their services and the opinions in this post are totally my own. Thanks!
