Canning Lid Pumpkin

IMG_1109

Ok, well, I guess technically this pumpkin is made of canning jar rings, not lids, but it just sounded better to me…

Anyway, this little guy was super easy to make, and for pretty inexpensive…I made it for less than $5.   I had a few rings on hand, but bought a new box as well for this project as I didn’t want to use them all up…in case I decide to can anything again!  I also was able to snag a wine cork from a friend, and just used scraps of fabric for the leaves.  So, pretty easy, huh?!  Another cute Fall decor piece to add to my collection.

MATERIALS:

Canning jar rings

Orange spray paint (or leave them plain if you want)

string to tie together rings (I used curling ribbon)

some sort of stem

felt or fabric for leaves

Glue gun

DIRECTIONS:

Lay out rings on newspaper to spray them…if you are doing this step.

Slide rings onto string, and tie into a knot.  Spread out to desired shape.  Attach stem and leaves with hot glue gun.  You will have to adjust rings to desired pumpkin shape, as well as slightly readjust when you place it where you want it.

HAPPY FALL!!
