Boise Childrens Art Workshop – GIVEAWAY!!

Today is the LAST. DAY. OF. SCHOOL.

Are you already feeling anxious about the “I’m BO-ORED” whines that are sure to hit your ears in exactly 3.5 days?ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve got a great idea!ย  Enroll your child in an art workshop!ย  Alyson, of Creative Elements has put together an array of workshops and you’re sure to find one that will fit your child!ย  All classes will be held at Lake Hazel Elementary School (Lake Hazel/Five Mile area). I’m excited for my daughter to attend!ย  This will be a great way to get her creative juices flowing!

Of course, we asked Alyson if she’d be willing to do a GIVEAWAY- and she said YES!

Want to enter for a chance to win a FREE ART WORKSHOP FOR YOUR CHILD (valued at $55.00!!)? There are THREE different possible entries!

  1. Go check out Alysons blog Creative Elements, and tell what class you’d love your child to get in to!ย  (While you’re there, be sure to see what the workshop dates are by looking at the 2010 Summer Schedule).
  2. Become a follower of her blog (scroll down and look at the right hand side to follow).
  3. Tell us the cutest, most precious, most funny drawing or art project your child has done (And see one of my favorites below)

You probably can’t read in the fine print, but she wrote “I love all the cereals.”ย  This is a picture she drew of me standing by our food storage with coupon binder in one hand, and coupons in the other!

So make sure you leave a comment below (see above criteria) to enter the contest!ย  OR, you can REGISTER NOW (to ensure you get your child in the class you want), and if you win, Alyson will refund you your money!ย  Hooray for CREATIVITY!!

Contest will run through Wednesday June 9th (11:59 pm) and the winner will be chosen by and announced Thursday morning!ย  Good luck!!ย  And thanks Creative Elements!!

I’m not a mom, so please don’t count me in for the contest but I just want to say that your daughter’s picture is adorable! You’re influencing your kids and they will have better lives because of it. My mom used to coupon a million years ago, and now I’m teaching her some new tricks with the Internet and blogs like yours. Thanks so much for what you do!

I would like the Art with a Buddy Class because it is something I could do with my four year old and my two year old.

my daughter drew a picture of her on the ground with a bunch of chairs pushed up against the fridge with the cupboard above (the off limits cupboard you think should be safe since it’s way above the fridge) well she drew Jesus up in the clouds looking down at her watching her every move so she wouldn’t be naughty and get in the cupboard ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Heather

I would like my son to get into the Step Into A Book program. Sounds perfect for him!

  • Heather

My child tends to draw a lot of sword fighting type pictures. I was so happy when he came home with a cute picture of a stack of pancakes and little sausages and french toast dancing around them. He must have been hungry that day. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • katy atkinson

i would love my daughter to take the drawing and design session(s). she is only in 1st grade but well beyond her years in art. SHE THRIVES ON anything artsy. I’ve been wanting to get her into some art classes but they seem to always be for older kids.

My son absolutely loves super heroes. He even wants to be one when he grows up. Last year for mothers day he made me a card. On it he drew me with a cape and in my hand was a coupon binder. And on it he wrote Super Coupon Mom. I asked him what I was buying and he said candy for him of course.

  • coralee

World Tour sounds cool for my 9yr old.

  • coralee

I can’t even count how many times my kids have drawn pictures for me of me eating chocolate. At least they know what makes me happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Creative Elements

So I’m not entering the contest, but Cathy I LOVE the drawing! That is so hilarious! Can’t wait to see who wins! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Amy Conner

I would sign up for the art classes for my 2 year old.

  • S. P.

My oldest daughter doodles on EVERYTHING! I would love to see her doodle something with a little art influence! We plan to sign up for art around the world and would love a freebie!

  • Sophie

My son is 5 and the Very Hungry Caterpillar would be a fun class for him to take. I love Eric Carle books and he loves reading them too! Im sure he would love all 4 Art With A Buddy classes though.

  • Queen Ann D

My son is so ready for an art class. I’m pretty sure he’d love any of them. But step into a book might combine his two great loves–books and creating.

    I’m already a follower–do I put in a separate comment for that?

  • Tara

My twin girls would absolutely love these classes. I would like to enter for the Step into a Book class. Everything I do, I have to do double, and it would definitley help if one of them could get a scholarship. They love to create art projects whether it is drawing, coloring, or painting. This would be a highlight of their summer.

Here is my separate comment….I am now a follower of Creative Elements. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m under MeridianMom52.

Well, I might as well be thorough. For my last entry, I would like to share one of my favorite works of art by one of my daughters. When she 6, she brought me a sheet of paper that had lines and shapes and designs in different colors all over the paper. When I asked her what this drawing was, she told me that this paper was her lastest “abstract” art. That’s when I knew I had a little artist in the house. I know that I wasn’t creating “abstracts” (on purpose, at least) when I was in Kindergarten. Actually, I don’t know if I’ve ever created one…..again, on purpose, that is!

  • Brooke

What a FUN picture you have! It’s amazing what influence we have on our kiddos, eh?

I would love for my son to get into the Step Into a Book class…. he already writes and illustrates his own stories. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok, so it’s hard for me to pick ONE piece of art that my kids have done…. I think I have kept every single scribble and line that they’ve ever done! ๐Ÿ™‚ I do like my son’s “Billy Stories” (my husband’s name is Bill) that show Billy getting married, having a baby, getting a job, etc… It’s all through the eyes of a 7 year old and is PRICELESS! Thanks for letting me ramble in my prideful mommy way ;)!

  • Michele pearson

I would love to get my 3 and 5 year old in an art class!

  • Ember

My son and husband love to take the globe and spin it, wherever it lands is what they will talk about. This is the bedtime routine. So I know my son would love to take the World Tour.

  • Leslie B

I would love to take my two year old to one of the art with a buddy classes. She loves to color and paint and would have sooo much fun at one of these classes!

  • Leslie B

My favorite piece of art that my two year old has made was a photo mat that she painted. With just a little help from mommy, she painted a fun photo mat that we used to frame a picture of her for daddy for his birthday. It is complete with a little tear in the corner (adds charm, right?) and a nice big hand print on one side. This is our favorite framed photo in the house.

  • krista
