Why I Love Back to School Shopping with Crazy 8
Can you believe it’s almost time to head back to school?! I always have such mixed feelings when this time comes. I mean I love having my kids home for summer, honestly, I do! But I do miss the routine that school brings (not to mention cleaner house). 🙂 I am sure all moms feel those same feelings too!
The Misfits of Summer
The one thing that almost always brings up a bit of anxiety is with back to school is that I need to make sure my kids walk in those doors not looking like the misfits of summer. 😀 Please tell me that I’m not the only one. It seems like after just a few weeks of summer break, the kids are doing their best to wear whatever mismatched craziness they can find. In fact, the more worn out the better. Half of my kids, well except for my two year old who changes her outfits 5 times a day, would sleep in the same outfit and wear it for 3 days straight if I allowed them to (ahem, that may or may not have happened IRL). Hey, I’ve been in “summer mom mode”, right?
But now it’s time to step back into “school mom mode”. My kids have either outgrown, lost, or gently ruined the majority of their decent looking clothing. I do have a little pride, I’ll admit it. I’m not going to send them to school wearing what they’ve been wearing all summer. With 8 kids (2 going off to college), you can imagine the toll that can take on my bank account! I do my best to keep hand-me-downs, but sometimes kids just need new clothes! So I’ve got to have my budget ready for back to school shopping. My littles also work for their grandpa and a neighbor throughout the summer so they can use some money on their own back to school shopping. When that time rolls around, I give each of them a budget to spend for their supplies and their clothes. They get to decide how to stretch their dollar…. and that, my friends, is why I heart back to school shopping at Crazy 8!
Crazy 8 Saves the Day!
When Crazy 8 approached me and asked me (AND my 4 youngest kids) to review their jeans, shirts, and online shopping experience, I of course said yes! They provided each of my four kids an entire outfit, in exchange for my honest review. So here it is my friends. I told the kids we had some online shopping to do!
We went to Crazy8.com and started browsing the site. I love how user friendly it is. AND I was amazed that the most expensive item I saw was around $20. They constantly have sales going on! Like right now you can get 40% off all regular priced items! For example, the Geo shirts my girls are wearing are currently running for $8.00! Woo hoo! I love searching through the too. Crazy 8 is awesome because they have quality clothes that are fashion forward, yet super affordable. It’s a total win win!
Lookin Boss for School!
Just because you are on a budget doesn’t mean that your kids can’t have quality clothes. What completely sells me about Crazy 8 is their denim! Kids need new jeans (maybe 2 or 3 pair even!) and Crazy 8 has some awesome fits and washes that will hold up!
The boys had fun picking out their clothes and were SO excited when they arrived. They LOVE the Rocker Jeans. The fit is just right AND I love that they have the adjustable waist bands. SCORE for mom! You can easily dress this denim up by putting on some nicer shoes and a button down shirt. OR dress it down with tennis shoes and a cool t-shirt.
My boys usually protest when it comes to wearing anything but a t-shirt, so we compromised and picked tshirts that would match well with the botton down plaids. That way when we go to family Sunday dinners they can look nice, but feel happy that they still get to wear their cool shirts. The jeans make them look nice and sharp! PS – right now the jeans are 40% off!
PLUS the jeans are COMFORTABLE… not those stiff tight fabric that kids hate wearing. There is STILL plenty of room so big brothers can tease their little sisters all they want.
Girls are ALWAYS fun to shop for… and they love to be matchy matchy! That is one of the reasons I love Crazy 8 now, since they have sizes 6 months to 14, I can find matching shirts for my girls who are nearly 5 years apart in age. Not only are girls fun to shop for, they are EASY to shop for. See how the nice Geo shirts look with the jeans?
And then we went with a little more casual look (and different shirts this time). I LOVE the raspberry crochet top Mal is wearing. It pops with that dark denim! AND Olivia’s little shirt matches perfectly with her shoes! AND I love pairing aqua and denim together too!
I think the part that you will love the most is that your kids will LOVE the clothes. Mine sure do! The clothes are stylish and look nice… which means you won’t have to hound them to wear nicer clothes when school starts.
