1. American Chop Suey

American Chop Suey

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons plus ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, divided
3 cups diced onion (divided as 1 cup fine dice and 2 cups ¾ inch dice)
3 cups diced green bell pepper (divided as 1 cup fine dice and 2 cups ¾ inch dice)
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 pounds 80/20 ground beef
1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes (we like Pastene)
1 cup tomato sauce
1 5.5 ounce can of V-8 juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2-3 Fresh Parmesan rinds, about 4 inch squares (optional)
1 ½ tablespoons fresh chopped mint (if using dried, use half that amount)
2 tablespoons fresh chopped basil (if using dried, use half that amount)
1 tablespoon fresh chopped oregano (if using dried, use half that amount)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1 pinch red pepper flakes
12 ounce dry elbow macaroni noodles
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

2. Chinese Takeout Chop Suey

Ingredients:

1 bunch bok choy, cut into 1 inch pieces
8 ounce mushrooms, washed and sliced
½ green pepper, chopped
8 ounce can bamboo shoots
14 ounce can bean sprouts, drained and rinsed
For the pork marinade
1 pound pork loin – cut up into bite size pieces
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the sauce
½ cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic – minced
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon rice cooking wine
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Additionally
1 tablespoon vegetable oil to fry in
1/2 cup water

Ingredients:

1 TB Vegetable Oil
1 TB Sesame Oil
1 1/2 t Garlic and Ginger Paste
2 – 3 Chicken Fillets, cubed or strips
4 cups Stir-Fry Vegetables {I prefer French style in this recipe}
3 packets 2-Minute Noodles {not using the seasoning}
2 TB Soy Sauce
Handful Coriander Leaves, chopped
Handful Asian Sprouts

Ingredients:

Beef 1 1⁄2 Pound
Oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Freshly ground pepper To Taste
Celery 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Onions 2 Large
Molasses 1 Tablespoon
Beef bouillon 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Canned bean sprouts 2 Cup (32 tbs), drained
Cornstarch 3 Tablespoon

5. Pork Chop Suey

Pork Chop Suey

Ingredients:

For the Marinade:
1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons ginger root, minced
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 1/2 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into strips
For the Sauce:
1 cup beef broth
6 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons ginger root, minced
4 teaspoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
For the Chop Suey:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (8 ounce) white mushrooms, sliced
2 cups celery, sliced
1 cup onions, roughly chopped
2 cups baby boy choy, sliced
3 cups bean sprouts
1 cup snow peas
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts
5 green onions, coarsely chopped
5 large fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped
