A Frugal Way To Organize Mail

I am really tired of the mountain of mail that accumulates on a designated area of my kitchen counter.  Although I try to keep bills to be paid on top of the mountain, sometimes they get buried.  I thought of an open shoe box to throw them in, but was still looking for something better.

Then yesterday my unpaid bills were sitting on the counter right next to a Kleenex box I emptied.  And it must have been fate because look what I came up with: the Kleenex box mail holder!

Dorky? Yes.  Functional? Yes.  Going to make my life easier?  Yes.

This way, the bills I need to pay are standing up so I can just grab them and take care of them without having to search the pile.  As soon as we empty another box, I’m going to use it for general mail and hopefully it will help me keep my counter clear!

ooh! and if you have an ugly Kleenex box, you could cover it with gift wrap or scrapbook paper! i am all over that—i have bills and mail strewn across the kitchen island–blech!

You can even cover them with heavy fabric to make the box more sturdier,or if your really creative-make box shiffs for holidays!!!!.

What a great idea! And it’s not dorky…nothing could be less dorky than a free solution to a problem! Too bad I don’t currently have an empty tissue box…but I bet a wipes container would do the trick!

It reminded me of my new favorite blog, http://choosetothrive.blogspot.com/. Seriously, you MUST check this out. This woman is genius, and has inspired me in so many ways (old socks became ‘spa gloves’ to help soothe my dry, chapped hands).
