52 Weeks of Pinterest: Week 45 – Book Advent Calendar

This year I wanted to go with a resolution I would have no problem sticking to! Then as I was pinning an item on Pinterest, a light bulb flashed on above my head. Ok, maybe not literally, but this great idea popped into my head. Those of us who are Pinterest users know that we pin hundreds of things a week, but do we ever do them? So I decided this year I would do one of my pins every week. At the moment, 52 weeks of Pinterest was born. Each week I will do something I found on Pinterest rather it be a craft, new recipe, organizing technique, or whatever!

This week it’s a Book Advent Calendar.

What You Need:
24 books wrapped

I actually saw this idea on Facebook and since I am such a firm believer in reading to kids, I had to do it at my house.

All you need to do is wrap 24 books. You can pick some up at the dollar store, thrift store, yard sale, you name it. If you have a Costco membership, you can pick up some great book sets too for great prices. Recently I saw a 24 pack of classic kids stories for $24.99!

The idea is to wrap the books up and place them near the tree. Starting December 1st, unwrap one each night and read before bed.

You can number the books if you would like to keep them in a certain order but I didn’t see a point to that and figured it would be funner for the kids to pick one each night.

I like the idea of this advent calendar because not only do you get to boost up your children’s library you are having fun family time and making a worthwhile advent calendar that is worth every penny!

Make sure to pin this to Pinterest to save for later! If you are not following us on Pinterest, make sure to do so now so you don’t miss out on some great pins!
