52 Weeks of Pinterest: Week 26 – Hawaiian Baked Ham and Swiss Sandwiches!
This year I wanted to go with a resolution I would have no problem sticking to! Then as I was pinning an item on Pinterest, a light bulb flashed on above my head. Ok, maybe not literally, but this great idea popped into my head. Those of us who are Pinterest users know that we pin hundreds of things a week, but do we ever do them? So I decided this year I would do one of my pins every week. At the moment, 52 weeks of Pinterest was born. Each week I will do something I found on Pinterest rather it be a craft, new recipe, organizing technique, or whatever!
What You Need:
1 12 pack of King’s Hawaiian Original Rolls
1 lb. deli ham, shaved
1 lb. Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
1 1/2 sticks butter
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons of poppy seeds
1 onion, chopped
This now my second favorite recipe I have found on Pinterest…. it is so yummy and I didn’t modify anything from the original.
First things first, preheat your oven to 350°.
The only “tricky” part to this recipe is slicing the whole pack of rolls in half horizontally. You don’t want to separate them into individuals until they have been cooked, it will just be a pain.
After you have cut the entire pack into 2 halves, place the bottom slice into a greased 9×13 pan.
Melt your butter in a bowl and mix in the poppy seeds, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and onion. Pour â…“ of this mixture on top of the bottom rolls in the pan.
Next lay out all of your ham followed by all of your cheese over that mixture.
Finally, place the top half of the rolls on the cheese and then pour the remaining of your mixture on top. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes.
Once cooked, separate into individuals and call it done!
Mine were a little more “wet” looking than the original, but they were still divine. I also am terrible with using measuring devices, I just use my eyes and I probably need glasses! 🙂
Make sure to pin this to Pinterest to save for later! If you are not following us on Pinterest, make sure to do so now so you don’t miss out on some great pins!
