Bean bags are perfect extra seats in your home.  They are portable and very comfy too.  Make your own bean bags that are perfect for kids and even adults too.

1.  Super Simple DIY Kids Bean Bag Chair

YOU WILL NEED:

Two (2) pieces upholstery fabric (32” x 45”)

One (1) 22” zipper

One 3.5 cubes bag bean bag beans

MAKE THIS PROJECT!

2.  Make Your Own Bean Bag Chairs

YOU WILL NEED:

For adult-size chair

5 yards (4.6 m) medium weight to heavyweight fabric, 45″ to 48″ (115 to 122 cm wide

OR 3-1/2 yards (3.2 m) of 54″ to 60″ (137 to 152.5 cm) fabric

Muslin, for inner lining, yardage same as for outer cover

Zipper, 22″ (56 cm) long

Polystyrene pellets, approximately 6 cu. Ft. (1.85 cu. m)

Other suggested filler to use would be packing peanuts. Use the ones that DO NOT dissolve with water

1″ (2.5 cm) grid, such as cutting mat or graph paper

For child-size chair

3 yards (2.75 m) medium weight to heavyweight fabric, 45″ to 48″ (115 to 122 cm) wide.

OR 2-1/2 yards (2.3 m) of 54″ to 60″ (37 to 152.5 cm) fabric

Muslin, for inner lining, yardage same as for outer cover

Zipper, 18″ (46 cm) long

Polystyrene pellets, approximately 4 cu. ft. (1.27 cu. m)

3.  Beanbag Pouf

YOU WILL NEED:

3 yd fabric

tape measure

water-soluble marker

string and tape (optional)

scissors

pins

iron

thread

sewing machine with zipper foot

20″ zipper

6 yd 3/8″ cording

polyester bean filler

MAKE THIS PROJECT!

4.  Baby and Toddler DIY Bean Bag

YOU WILL NEED:

1 yard/meter of fabric* for the top of the cover (preferably heavy weight, or mid weight reinforced with interfacing)

1 yard/meter of fabric* for the sides of the cover (preferably heavy weight, or mid weight reinforced with interfacing)

1/2 yard/meter of fabric** for the bottom of the cover (preferably heavy weight, or mid weight reinforced with interfacing)

1.5 yard/meter of fabric** for the inside bag (preferably heavy weight)

around 220 cm (86″) of piping (optional)

2 strips of around 25 cm (1/4 yard) of Velcro

around 50 liters (13.20 US gallons) of bean bag filling (polystyrene beads)

MAKE THIS PROJECT!

5.  Super Comfy Bean Bag

1.6m/1.2m 140cm-wide furnishing fabric

1.6m/1.2m fire-retardant lining fabric

matching thread

65cm/55cm zip

approximately 5cu ft/3cu ft polybeads
