$10 to Rent Prom Formals/Tuxedos {Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Eagle}

Thank you to fab fruGAL Stephanie for this tip!

“I came across something wonderful that can save your readers hundreds of dollars. For both high school homecoming and prom,
The Assistance League of Boise sponsors Cinderella’s Closet for Ada county teenagers. They rent out gorgeous formals for both girls and guys for only a $10 cleaning fee!!! The gowns have to be under 3 years old to be rented. There are tons of dresses and tuxes with all of the accessories. Everyone there is very friendly and is volunteering their time. There are multiple changing rooms to make sure that it fits just right. You just have to have a student ID to an Ada county school, a driver’s license (can be Mom’s) and $10. They are due back the week after the event.”

You Can Also Be a part of this special program:

  • Bring your “gently used” gowns/formal wear to the Assistance League Thrift Shop and mention Cinderella’s Closet to a volunteer
  • Dresses should be no more than three years old
  • Your formal wear will make a teen’s dreams come true, instead of taking up space in your closet
  • All sizes are welcome, we are especially in need of plus size dresses
  • A tax receipt will be provided
  • Contact us if you want to participate in a special Cinderella’s Closet dress drive

Find more information on their website.  Last year they helped over 350 young women and men!!

    I started this program about 8 years ago. I have been grateful every day since the Assistance League took it on as their own. They are incredible women and truly enjoy helping the girls find dresses for their special occassions. I hope you all take advantage of this opportunity and save that $200 dollars for college instead of a one use gown!

      Billie-Jo: I don’t know if you’ll see this or not, but I wanted to thank you for starting this great program! My son was just able to get attired in a great tux by a great bunch of helpful gals. We took your advice and are saving the money that we would have spent on the tux and putting it toward the college fund. Thank you so much!

      Edited: Realize if I hit reply instead of making a new comment, you might see this note. Hopefully. 🙂
