This Coupon Tip Changed My Life!!!!

Because they don’t tell you everything on reality television we are here to reveal the secrets of Extreme Couponing. TLC’s Extreme Couponing is really not about education it is more about entertainment. Our goal is to educate you and empower you to save money for your family.

I have been busy writing the articles below to show you that you can coupon and save money and still eat HEALTHY! I have a few more articles for you in this series,  but I have to interupt my series this week to bring you LIFE CHANGING NEWS!

Monday afternoon I was printing my favorite coupons from coupons.com and it was taking FOREVER! You see coupons.com just had a site remodel. When a site makes changes the goal is to make the site more user friendly for it’s users. But sometimes it takes a while to figure out how the site is more user friendly. That can be frustrating. Do you know that after printing your first set of coupons on coupons.com they kick all the coupons you just printed to the last page? You can then print them another time. With the new format on coupons.com you can not click on the numbers and skip pages to make it to the last page faster. UGH. so it takes FOREVER. I was wasting so much time scanning through 13 pages and waiting for each one to load.

Last night after another frustrating episode of printing coupons (the milk and cheese coupons reset), I asked our friends on Facebook if anyone had found a solution to this problem. Fab Facebook friend Magen had a solution! ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

Click on “show more coupons” then hit the space bar 10 ish times until all the pages quickly roll out before your eyes! Woot!

Now go try it and see how it works for you!

UPDATE: It appears this tip is not working on the mac. Fab Frugal Sherry got it to work by clicking on the show more coupon button and push the space bar and then tap the mouse.  How is it working for you?

P.S. If you missed my tip for changing the zip code on coupons.com <—- check it out!

Next week I will have more on this series below and I will also have a confession to make.

  1. OMG!!!! Thank you… BEST TIP EVER! :)

  2. It works for me on a PC and with Firefox. I saw this tip earlier on another blog and it said to hit the space bar 15x after clicking on Show More Coupons, so I have always hit it 15x and it has always worked.

Here’s my dream wish for the coupon sites: I wish that it gave you an option to “Print One” or Print Two.” It would sure save on paper when I only want to print one coupon, but I want to print that one coupon twice.

    • Here’s how I save paper: I take a sheet that has only 1 coupon printed on it, turn it around & run it through the printer again, so at least I get 2 coupons per sheet of paper. I know, not the most efficient use of time, but it works! :-)

  3. Vicki Powell says:

The most important thing I found out was that I could print them from swagbucks. That is awesome.

  4. Vicki Powell says:

It worked for me. Thanks so much!

  5. GlitterMamma says:

Using a PC with Chrome and it doesn’t work. Oh well. :)

  6. with the new updat coupons.com did i can no longer print from one of my two macs. I’ve contact them several times always the same pre-fab response. Everytime they updat i have to change settings on my comp and printer and it takes me weeks to figure out what those new settings are. It’s getting to the point that I’m ready to stop printing coipons.

So happy about your tip, cause I can still print on my old computer, and that tip is saving me lots of time!

  7. Here’s a tip: Swagbucks gives you points for each coupon you print, has the same coupons as coupons.com and still has the old format where you can click the page numbers.

  8. If after you select the coupons you want (before you print them) open up another tab on your browser and go to coupons.com it will already have the coupons that you selected on the first tab in the second tab.

  9. Thanks for the tip. I have been hating the new site because of all the scrolling. This will be a lifesaver.

  10. jessica b. says:

It doesn’t work for me either unfortunately. I just hit the “end” button and click on “show more coupons”. On my older computer running windows XP the new site design completely cripples my computer to the point that it’s nearly not useable. It takes about 15 min to load all the pages and select the coupons. I emailed them to let them know about the difficulty, I really hope they go back to the older format. :(

  11. I print my coupons from Swagbucks, that way I earn 10 swagbucks per coupon and they have most of the same coupons as coupons.com

    • Just FYI: If you print one coupon from the links you see on Fabulessly Frugal (first) one time per day you will support our site and keep us blogging. Then go and print the rest from swagbucks and earn yourself some bucks!

  12. Oh…. THANK YOU! When I printed my milk coupons yesterday, I was silently cursing the new set up of the site! Who has time to look through that many pages just to find the milk! :)
    Thanks.

  13. Thank you! This will help!

  14. Meridian Mama says:

Love it! I was soooo annoying to have to click on “show more coupons” over & over & over! Now I’ll be saving TIME in addition to money, yahooo!!!

  15. Dear Magen (and Monica for passing it on)- I LOVE YOU! Thanks for the tip!

  16. Nope it didn’t work for me to press the space bar while holding the button on the show more coupons :( I hate that new feature!

  17. I have found that if I click on the popular categories (beauty, dairy..) I can get the coupon I need fairly quick. I hate the new format too. I guess it’s so you can view every coupon over and over. Better chance you may pick one you didn’t before.

  18. A. Martin says:

I usually just print mine from the Swag bucks site. They still have the old format and you earn for every coupon you redeem.

  19. Yep. I didn’t like the changes at all, but now I’m getting the hang of it, and it’s not so bad.

There’s a “find” box at the top left that works great. The coupons seem to be filed under appropriate keywords. Hit “more” and the space bar a bunch of times until you see the bottom of the list. It just takes a second. Then enter your keyword in the box, and it will come up lickety split! Mine show up at the bottom of the window, with the keyword highlighted in yellow.

I’m using IE, if that matters.

  20. clicking the space bar does not work for me to get pages to roll by :( I hate the remodel. so, i use swagbucks where this way i can input zip and run thru pages & i get points for using my q’s. :)

    • Just FYI. When you print after clicking on links from Fabulessly Frugal it supports our site and keeps us posting. :)

  21. Evelyn Alejandro says:

Tried everything to get this to work… on google chrome and it wouldn’t work at all :(

  22. *YEAH!!!!*

  23. THANK YOU! You save me time and money.

  24. Just tried both tips and they worked beautifully! Thanks for making my night!

  25. Christina says:

I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble printing from the coupons.com site using google chrome. I used to be able to print just fine but after the remodel of their site it tells me it is printing but doesn’t and then after 2 tries it tells me I printed the number of times allowed. So frustrating! Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

  26. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!! As I was reading I was like “could she possibly be going to give me the answer to my frustration with the new format of coupons.com” YES SHE DID! Thanks so much! I have another question about this new format. There used to be a box where you could input a zip code. . . do you know where it went or how you do it?

    Thanks again,
    Karen

  27. I do this as well, and if I’m looking for a specific coupon, then once I’ve got all the coupons up, I use my trusty pal “CTRL+F” and type in a brand or keyword that I know will bring the coupon front & center 4me ;)

  28. Rochelle Mullin says:

My big problem since the new update is that EVERY time I try to print, it makes me change my printer settings back to use color ink. Kind of defeats the purpose of printing coupons as using color instead of black costs a lot more. Anyway, I did e-mail them about the problem and their solution was to walk me through the process of how to change my ink cartridge between black and color. (Duh, I told them in the e-mail that I was already having to do that.) Anyway, their customer service was of little use. Anybody else having that issue? I’m using a Mac (Snow Leopard), tried on both Firefox and Safari, and I have a Canon printer. If you have a good solution, please let me know. On one of their other major updates, I actually couldn’t print through my Mac for months. Their solution then was to tell me that yes, Mac was supported by their programming. Sorry about the vent, but thought I’d let people know that they weren’t the only ones having issues. Guess printing in color is better than not printing at all. :)

    • That is annoying. Good idea to change to b/w cartridge, I wonder if my printer would comply to that?

    • I have been having problems with Coupon.com. I keep getting “the coupon have been printed an are waiting at your printer” but nothing was waiting at my printer, then I also got “that it would not let the coupons print” so I went to see what could be done an it gives you all these things to do,check everything an it was as suppose to be, so send an email was told to try printing a coupon an it did work but only the one they sent to me not the ones on the site. So I took the whole thing off erased it all an re- loaded it, well guess what at this point it is working, who knows what will happen the next time I go to use Coupon.com

    • I have always had my printer settings set on greyscale, but it ALWAYS prints in color which is so incredibly frustrating. Ideas?

      • There should be a second option to use black ink only or color (for higher quality).

        • Maybe set your default printer settings to greyscale….or depending on your kind of printer, economy, quick, draft…whatever the option is? I’ve had to do that before. Now for me I have that as my default since I always like to print the cheapest way, then if I KNOW I need something in color I can go in real quick and change it. Otherwise, inevitable my kids will print some full page color photo they don’t need in high quality color lol

    • I occasionally get the “printer settings” error on my mac too. If I just click the print button at the bottom of the error page instead of trying to change the settings it almost always will print without any further problems.

  29. That’s a great tip. Can’t wait to try it:) I wait for my printing to start and then I quickly hit the refresh button and my second set of coupons will print. But you have to be quick if you wait to long it doesn’t work.

    • Great tip Tina! I have never heard of that. I got to try it!

    • Tammy Atkins says:

Ive done that but it prints identicle bar codes and store wouldnt take two of same coupon….I had to use then at another store

      • Oh that is not good. The stores will not be reimbursed if the bar codes are the same. The second coupons will be rejected at the clearing house.

        • I’ve done that many times and they don’t print with the same barcodes for me. Some won’t let you do it, but I have never had an issue on coupons.com (Smartsource coupons will not print doing this and you might lose your 2nd print if you try!)
I just hit my back arrow and then refresh the page.

  30. Dang, it must only work the PCs. Doesn’t work on my Mac. :( And yes it is annoying! Why do they kick it to the end of the list? Obvi if I printed it I like it and want another. LOL.

    • Bummer. Thanks for letting us know. Maybe someone will find a short cut.

    • It didn’t work on my notebook either, I really kind of dislike coupon.com’s new format.

      • We are getting reports that it does not work on mac or in chrome? Are you using a pc? Which browser are you using?

      • It doesn’t work on Chrome for me either. Just tried it with Mozilla & it DOES work! Wooohooo! Thanks for the tip. That was annoying me too! I think they want us to “have to” look at all the other coupons they’re offering – sneaky people, lol

        • I am on a laptop using Mozilla, didn’t work at all. :o( Rats.. back to waiting…. and waiting to get to the end of the list..

    • Sherry Hatcher says:

It worked on my mac. you just click on the show more coupon button and push the space bar and then tap the mouse. It gets to the end in no time. Thanks for the tip.

    • It worked on my Mac

    • I have a mac and all I do is go to Click More Coupons, click on it and hold. scroll and click continuously and it will quickly get you there. My son says you can check your keyboard settings or Safari settings to see if anything is turned off.
