What are you finding at Target today?

Comments

  1. Went to target today. Pepperidge farm cookies had an endcap cookie display with 75 cent off peelies. A couple aisles over there were “on the go” pepperidge farm cookies for $1.00, used the peelies from the other cookies to make them 25 cents each :)

    • Glad you are excited. Seems unethical. Why didn’t you use the coupons on the intended product?

    • The peelies you used were ment for the person who were buying the other cookies. I think that is coupon theft. Things like this give couponers a bad name. Please think before you do something like this again.

    • Nikki Bell says:

My daughter and I disagree on this very topic. I say leave the peelies for a consumer who intends to buy that product at that store. She says peelies are meant to be peeled and used. I can see both points. I have lost out on some good sales because I refused to peel before I used. SHe has capitolized on some good deals. I would like the Fab Girls to weigh in on this. What say you?

      • We have a “no peel and run” policy around here! We only take a peelie if we purchase the product the peelie was attached to. Others have different views on this or don’t realize it is a form of unethical couponing (Clarissa-we’re not calling you out specifically, as we know it happens all the time!), but here it what we know. A manufacturer will place peelies on certain items to move them from the shelf faster. Once it is attached to the item, it belongs to that item and should only be removed by the buyer. Of course once you’ve purchased the product, you can choose to hold onto the coupon for future use, as the coupon is now yours to use as you please!

    • Ouch! Some harsh comments. I’ve been following the Fab Frugals for several years now and have read several posts on this exact topic–is it ethical to pull peelies and use on a different product?. From my understanding, they have stated that they view it as okay as long as you are using them on a product in the same store and have frequently promoted such deals. Obviously, everyone’s ethical viewpoints are going to differ slightly and I think you need to be careful about judging other’s couponing actions. There are some very obvious no-no’s, and there are other areas with a fine line. This is one of those areas. For instance, if I see a peelie that reads “$1 Off…When you buy THIS product” I leave that peelie be. But oftentimes, the coupon is very much up in the air–”.75 off any Pepperidge Farm product.” If the company wanted it product specific, they would have been product specific. That’s why coupons often state sizes or other limitations, etc. I’m pretty sure the big companies are in on the whole couponing game by now. If it was really that important, they would make sure to be specific on their coupons. I would just say be careful where you call out judgement. Clarissa, way to be creative…

      • I don’t think the issue is “using the peelies for a different product”, I think the issue is that the peelies were taken from a package or packages that were not purchased and used to save money on a different product.
I for one would not be happy if I purchased a product that was intended to have a peelie and it was gone because someone had removed it to use for themselves. It is indeed unethical and If you disagree ask the Store’s management next time you’re in there.

      • I think if the company took the time to seal a peelie to THAT product, they meant it to be used on THAT product. Otherwise, they’d just print it like other coupons, or put it online.

        • The company doesn’t take the time to seal the peelie. The store rep who stocks the shelf generally just randomly puts it on everything. When it says must be removed by cashier it was sealed and is meant for that specific item. If you guys are against taking peelies off of products why do guys think its ok to take 30 tear pad coupons? I have seen mavis’s weekly posts that said for 3 weeks she used the same tear pad coupon to get the Mac n cheese. Was that ok but taking a few peelies is not. Even if she traded or bought off eBay she still essentially taking all the coupons. Everyone should stop being so hypocritical!!

  2. Nature Made fish oil gaelcaps – on sale for $4

Use the $2/1 coupon from the 1/1 SmartSource

Use the $1/1 coupon at target.com

    $1 for a bottle of 90 (or 113-some have a Bonus of 25%)

  3. So if you have a coupon from the paper and a coupon for the same product printed from the Target site can you use both at the same time?

  4. I was gonna go to Target but since Mavis has been there I know she got all the good stuff!

Note to Mavis……. I have been following the Fab Gals for about 6 months. I look forward to Mondays with Mavis and you yourself have saved me a ton of money.

Husband took a large paycut no vacation 2011. With your help we are well on our way to Hawaii this year. We are half way there!

My hearlfelt thanks to you, from me and my family.

  5. I scored a 7ft, unlit Christmas tree for $6 yesterday! I love Target!

    • Helen in Meridian says:

I scored two 7 1/2 pre-lit trees for $16.90 each at Boise. At Nampa i got two 4 1/2 pre-lit trees for $7.00 each; one to be a cowboy tree and one to be A Christmas Story tree, both table top. I thought they had too many contemporary ornaments and very few classic fine ornaments this year. Even right after Halloween I saw very little I wanted. Getting rid of the many old trees I have kept over the year.

  6. My Target had TONS of those ugly little trees too – and for 90% off – I still didn’t want them!

    • Guess I should say those red, white & gold ones in the pic (not the 7ft. one Emily posted about) Just noticed that my comment came right after hers!

  7. Kashi cereal–just went to order 2 Kashi cereal coupons from Recyclebank and they will only allow you to print one per month…so it would end up being $1.00 a box with the Recyclebank coupon, 1 coupons.com, and the target coupon. Not as great but still good.

  8. I was able to stack the 50 cent off carefree pads target coupon that was in the paper this weekend and get the pantiliners free! I also stacked the $1 off target & manufacturer coupons to get stayfree pads for .89! In the 90% off section I stocked up on giftbags for .10 each and some cute laser-cut felt heart ornaments (3/.10) that will make cute wedding/baby shower gift tags!

  9. I can’t find the Target coupon for the Weight Watchers Smart ones:/ Is it no longer available?
