Travel Tip Tuesday… Save up to 50% with CityPASS!
This past weekend my daughter and I took a last minute vacation to San Francisco. I immediately thought about the CityPASS and all it has to offer.
Every time our family plans a trip to a large city the first thing we seek out are museums and monuments. And over the years I have learned to check CityPASS.com to see if their discount booklet is available in the city we are traveling to. Lucky for us San Francisco was on the list!
We were able to save 48% on all the attractions we were planing on visiting PLUS with the CityPASS we had unlimited use of the trolly cars and buses.
For our first adventure we set sail on the Blue & Gold Fleet Bay cruise and passed Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge. The views from the boat were amazing.
Next stop: The famous Aquarium of the Bay. The jellyfish were our favorite exhibit.
Walking through the underwater tunnel and viewing a sea of leopard sharks, starfish and other various sea life was the highlight my daughters trip.
San Francisco, like many big cities have so much to offer that sometimes planning adventures can be overwhelming. Especially if you are the type to book last minute trips (Ahem, who me?).
But with the CityPASS, a trip into the big city is a piece of cake. Typically you’ll see a little art, visit an interactive museum or two and have yourself a grand old time. And the best part? You’ll skip most ticket lines with CityPASS because, with one simple purchase, you’ve got all your admission tickets in hand and ready to go.
At a discount of course! Typically you can expect to save about 1/2 the cost you’d regularly pay for separate admission to each attraction. Saving money on vacation… Now that’s my kind of deal!
This FruGAL is sold on the deals and discounts CityPASS has to offer!

Travel Tip Tuesday… Staycations
Our family has decided to stay home and enjoy a few mini “stay-cations” this summer rather than hop on a plane to some far away destination. And to be honest… I’m relieved. I think we get so busy sometimes with the day to day hustle and bustle and running errands that we forget to stop and look around and enjoy the town we live in.
A few weeks ago Groupon ran a special on Segway Tours in Seattle. I snatched up the offer almost immediately. Having never been on a Segway before… cruising around the downtown Seattle waterfront area on one sounded like a blast… And it was. I felt like a kid again. Top speed was 13 mph… and I didn’t fall off once.
Woo Hoo!
While on our Segways we cruised along and listened to street musicians playing outside of the original Starbucks location across from Pike Place Market.
We spotted fishmongers selling salmon…
And on a break we stopped and wandered through the market to enjoy all the fresh cut flowers and fresh produce at Pike Place.
So, if you decide to stay home this summer and enjoy your very own staycation… I highly suggest signing up for daily deal sights like Groupon, Living Social and CitySmart. You never know what crazy local activity might just pop up at a big discount!

Travel Tip Tuesday…
If you’re traveling to a big city this summer I highly recommend CityPass. Our family has previously purchased both the Seattle and the San Francisco passes and LOVED the savings and convience of using the passes.
CityPASS grants you admission to the most famous attractions in a city at nearly half the cost you’d pay for separate admission to each.
CityPASS is valid for 9 days from the day you use the first ticket (14 days in Southern California).
You’ll skip most ticket lines with CityPASS because, with one simple purchase, you’ve got all your admission tickets in hand.
CityPASS is the same low price whether you buy online or at any CityPASS attraction.
It’s just another FAB way you can save big bucks while on vacation. ![]()
