  1. You won’t believe what Safeway did! I went Friday evening with the one pasta coupon that i had and got my whole grain pasta for $.05 each with coupon and doubler. It was such an awesome deal that I went and bought more coupons on ebay. When i returned to the store yesterday, they changed their sale and only the regular pasta was bogo. The whole grain ones that the coupons are good for changed to $1.25 each, no bogo. I couldn’t believe they changed their sale mid week! Still turned out to .50 with the coupon, pretty good deal, but not as good as .05 each!

    • Sneaky Safeway, sometimes they change their prices on Sunday with the Sunday ad. I didn’t see it in the ad, but I bet that is what happened. :(

  2. Did anyone else get a mailer that says “pick your savings, save up to $100 for a month”? It came in my husband’s name, which is not on my card. You can pick $5 off $30, $15 off $75or $25 off $100 each week for the next month. I am wondering if the $100 is before or after coupons. Could be awesome deal if i can scan it before coupons.

    • I have not seen that Erin. It could be a regional thing. Read the fine print and it should tell you if it is before or after coupons. Thanks for sharing the info.

      • It is a bit vague. “Standard restrictions and exclusions apply. Limit one coupon per customer. COUPON CANNOT BE DOUBLED OR COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER OFFER. Online and in-store prices, discounts, and offers may differ.” So, it sounds negative but I think the “one coupon” part means you can only choose one of these mailer coupons per transaction, or per card per week. I am pretty sure they wouldn’t limit other coupons, right? “Combined with any other offer” confuses me too. Let me know if you have any coupon lingo expertise. I would love to take advantage of this great offer!

        • Erin, I have not seen this coupon, but it sounds like it means one of the mailer coupons per customer. Combined with any other offer usually means like a store promotion, so you couldn’t stack these special coupons. Also if your store was running another special promotion you might not be able to stack them with like the $10 off $75 coupon or if they were offering a 10% off purchase coupon (just examples…) Usually when stores have special large promotions like this they allow only one. Manufacturer’s coupons should be fine, but I cannot tell if it is before or after coupons. This sounds like a special promotion for like a grand opening/reopening/remodel type thing, or just to generate business at “your” particular Safeway. I hope that helps, you might want to just ask at customer service if it before or after coupons, I assume you weren’t the only one to get one and they would know more. Good luck, sounds like you could score some great deals!

  3. On the gum coupon if it says one time use, you can get several but only use it one time? Or can you only buy one item?

    • You can buy as many as you want, but the e-coupon (the one you load on your card) can only be used once. You could also used as many paper coupons as you want.

  4. Stephanie says:

Gold Peak tea on sale for 1.00 for the 18.5 oz. There’s a coupon at coupons.com for 75 cents off. If your store doubles, that’s free tea! If not, it’s still just 25 cents. :) Also, theres a coupon for .75 off that you can load on your safeway card at safeway.com (this one will not double). Today I got 5 teas (4 printed coupons and one on the card) my OOP was .25 total for all 5!

  5. I think there was a typo on the Salad dressing.

    Ken’s Salad Dressing B1G1 Free ($3.99 for 2)
    Buy 2
    Use 2 $1/1 Ken’s Dressing, 16 oz 03/11 SS
Final Price: $.99 each wyb 2

If you have doublers, it would be .50 each

    • Safeway’s corporate policy is that you cannot use a coupon on a free item, so you can only use one coupon on bogo items, not two.

      • Yes, you are right Jody, only one coupon on a B1G1 Free sale.

        • But if you read the policy it says “Coupons may not be applied against any free item received in any offer.” So doesn’t that technically mean that in order to use a coupon that is $1/2 you would have to buy 4 of one item that is a BOGO? It’s a little confusing.

          • It is confusing. I have never had a problem using a $1/2 on a BOGO, but YMMV.

            • Would it make a difference if you have the cashier scan the coupons before your store card for the $1/2 cpns used with the B1G1 deal? So, it would take the cpn off before it takes off the free item? Anyone try that? Want to get some ziploc bags & pasta 2morrow, without cashiers giving me grief. :-)

              • I bought (2) of the golden grain pastas and (2) ziplocs, and (2) cases of mangos this morning. The $1/2 coupons for the ziplocs and the pasta both scanned without a problem, even after I did my card. I got everything for $13! Woohoo

                • Thanks!

                • Great trip Kristyn!

                • Update… I went back this afternoon and bought (4) Ziplocs using 2 different $1/2 coupons…. and a $2 catalina printed. I asked about it and they said when you buy 4, you get a $2 cat for your next purchase. I am loving today :)

                  • Sweet Kristyn! Do the catalina say how long it was running?

                    • It does not say on the coupon and the store clerk was not sure. He said they have been printing all this week, but he did not know when they end.

                    • can i assume the cat will print in moscow? also, are the ziploc b1g1?

                    • Sarah, these deals ended yesterday. Ziplocs are no longer B1G1 and I am not even sure the cat is still printing. Go to the heading and click on Safeway under stores to see the deals running this week.

  6. Hi, I just wanted to mention there is a $1.00 off mq coupon for Cheetos (I found at Winco next to the Cheetos bags). You could use one at Safeway for the BOGO and double it to get two for $2.00, I think. Just thought I would let you guys know!!:)

  7. Thanks for the list w/matchups each week; it’s taken our shopping to a whole new, and easier, level!
    hope the following are useful:

In OR ad see Nivea lip care (.17oz, selected varieties) is BOGO ($2.99).
    there was a $1/1 printable Q at coupons.com

Also, at bottom of same page is Juice Jamboree:
includes Welch’s Refrigerated Juice (64oz, selected varieties)
there’s a 75c off Q on Welch’s Refrigerated Juice Cocktails or Healthy Start 100% Juice, any, from 02-12-12 RP (exp. 5/31/2012)

  8. The coupon for the “Signature Cafe Roasted Chicken” is a Safeway Coupon, and it’s says in the small print not subject to doubling.
Still a great deal without double though! :)
