  1. on the buy 2 get 1 free, can you use a coupon on the free item, or just 2 coupons?

    • Michelle says:

      yes you can!

      • I don’t see where it says that is OK in the Albertsons coupon policy…point it out to me if I am wrong…

        • You can use a coupon on the free item but if you look at the “round up” explanation in the ad – it will not round up on Free items.

    • Mustangkayla says:

I was wondering the same thing!

    • I spoke with the local Albertson’s here in Twin Falls and they said absolutely not. :(

      • I used 3 coupons today on a buy 2 get 1 free and the register did not beep. I was shopping in Ammon.

        • From what I have been told at my local store, you are allowed to use 1 manuf. coupon for every item that is in your transaction…..3 items, 3 coupons. If it creates an overage, you need to purchase something to absorb the overage. Its no different than using 2 coupons on a B1G1 free promo. If you are being told otherwise by your local store, I suggest calling the customer care number at the bottom of your receipt.

          • Exactly! The new policy they have in place for about a month now says you can use 2 coupons a BOGO items, this would be the same thing. I bet we see a lot of overage this week and free items! :)

  2. I was just at my albies and had a coupon for buy a scrubbing bubbles toilet gel and get a cleaning scrubber free. I also had a coupon for $1 off the gel and they told me I couldn’t use them both together! 2 separate items and 2 coupons. Does that sound right?

    • Correct me if I’m wrong. You had 2 coupons:
#1 – Buy toilet get, get cleaning scrubber FREE
      #2 – $1 off the gel

The way I see it, coupon #1 requires the purchase of two items, so the toilet gel already has 1 coupo n (the bogof) on it. That’s why you can’t also use coupon #2 on the gel.

I think you would need to purchase 2 gels and 1 cleaning scrubber to be able to use both of your coupons. But you ought to be able to do it in one transaction.

      • Yes that was it. Whoa. I have done that type of deal a bunch. Wow, I feel bad. I understood I could use a coupon on the item I had to purchase in order to get the free item. But I couldn’t use a coupon on the free item.

        • if the store has a B1G1 deal then you can use 2 coupons, one for the item being bought and one for the free item the store is giving you! but not with B1G1 coupons!
          Happy Shopping!

          • I read the suggestion of using a printable bogo free coupon along with the $1/1 from the paper, plus an albies ttv, to get 2 free Crave Cat Treats! This scenerio was suggested! (Crave Cat Treats $1.89 — buy two– use 1 bogo free printable q (-$1.89) Use 1 $1/1 rp q, Use 1 ttv (-$0.89) Get 2 Free Crave Cat Treats!) ……… Id say you Can use a coupon on the item youre buying!

      • The first coupon was just stating what needed to be purchased, buy x, get y free, you can still use a coupon on x, because the coupon is for item y. You cant use another coupon on item y because the buy x, get y free is on item y.

      • I just went today, and got Scotch Brite Disinfecting Wipes. I used a BOGO coupon that was a printable, and a 50 cent peelie that rounded up to a dollar, they didn’t say anything, and the coupons went through. Honestly I think it may be one of those YMMV things…I have had issues different cashiers different rules…or different knowledge. BUT in my past experience, if the cashier I go to tells me I can’t…then I tell them then I don’t want it, and get my coupons back. And try again somewhere else OR try again next time I go in….which could mean walking out and walking back in and going to a different cashier. I don’t feel bad about it, because if they want your business, they’ll do it, if not, THEN, you can go somewhere else…IE Walmart!

    • Ask for the manager, I’ve had to do this before. The free coupon attaches to the scrubber, the gel coupon attaches to the gel. The wording says you have to buy the gel, it does not say you have to pay full price for it.

      • Oh good you see it my way!! That is what I understood and have done it.multiple times. This was the first time I was told I couldn’t and then looked at their policy, which doesn’t clearly address it. Thank you.

  3. I think the Pringles at Winco for $1 are the small cans. I couldn’t use the superstack coupon on them.

  4. For the Lawry’s Marinade – if you use the 1.00/1 coupon, would it make all 3 free? since the final price would be .99 cents??

    • Good question! I’m getting that they would be .33 each with the $1/1 coupon….? Maybe this post isn’t refined yet; yeah it’s great about the round-up but there are barely any stars!

    • where is the Lawry’s marinade coupon?

      • Coupon for $1/1 Lawry’s Marinades, 4/15 RP, expires 5/15. Mine was in the Oregonian.

      • Fab about Albertsons says:

Hey all! Lawry’s coupons are listed now–they were not available when I orignally started working on the match-up. @Renee–you are right! They should be free. I am banking on my Albies letting me use a coupon on the free item–let me know whatt you guys run into with that transaction! Also, check back Thursday morning, I am going to head to the store and see if I can hunt us down some more pink stars with unadvertised match-ups!

        • Thanks for everything you do, posts like this help out a lot of people!

          • Clarissa says:

How are they free? Buy 2 get 1 free makes each one $.99. With one $1/1 coupon, the total for the 3 comes to $1.97, making each one $.66 wyb 3, right? Or do you mean they’re free when using 3 coupons?

        • My local Albertson’s (Twin Falls) said that you cannot use a coupon on the free item. :(

          • JUST JEN says:

I went yesterday and did this deal, I used three cpns and they ALL rounded up, my friend did the same right after me, between the 2 of us we got 30 bottles for FREE!

    • The final price is $0.99 for each bottle. Therefore, you would have to use 3 – $1/1 coupons to get all 3 free, plus $0.03 overage. I found my coupons on ebay.

  5. Where is the McCormick coupon in SS 3/25? I get the Idaho Statesman. You list it on on the coupon inserts and it is no where to be found. Did anybody else in Idaho find this?

  6. Since Walmart price matches, does anyone know if they will honor Albie’s roundup? Just curious :)

  7. There’s a $0.75/1 Dole fruit crisp coupon. Im not sure where it came from though as it is in my binder now. If you had three coupons it would be $1.98 total or $0.66 each. I think that’s a pretty good deal!

  8. You cannot get the mayo down that cheap… the price listed here is using three coupons…The mayo newspaper coupon states “Maximum of two identical coupons allowed in the same shopping trip”

    • Thank you, Mary.. that is what I was thinking. I have noticed that they are changing a lot of the coupons to say that.

      • Does anyone know if that’s still a red star at $1.93 each?

        • No it wouldn’t still be a red star, imo. The ad states that they are only 16.5 oz., so it is about half the size of a normal bottle. I don’t think it’s a great deal even with three coupons, unless you are brand loyal. Even then, we should start seeing better prices as summer approaches.

  9. I went this morning and found some good deals as well. Huggies wipes soft pack (54 count) for $1.99 with the roundup they came to .99 each (Yay stockiing up for grandbaby on the way) and the Johnson and Johnson baby wash, shampoos and lotions $2.99, got them for $1.99. Also the french’s worcestershire sauce $1.69 came to .69. Scott’s flushable wipes $2.19 down to $1.19 (handy for outdoor camping trips and such). Just a few more really good items to stock up on! Love the roundup deals. It is so much easier doing it all in one transaction than the doublers!! :) :) :)

  10. heidiwork says:

The way I read the Save $5 on your next shopping trip part of the ad (back page), there is a $5 INSTANT savings when you buy 5 items AS WELL AS a $5 savings on your next trip. So wouldn’t that make those items even cheaper or am I missing something?

    • That’s interesting. It says at the top “Save $5 on your next shopping trip”. But then when it lists the item prices, it subtracts “$1 Instant Savings When You Buy Any 5” and lists the price “after instant savings”. I bet this is a misprint and they’ll clarify it.

  11. ALSO, if you still have 20 cent lactose free yoplait coupons, get some free yogurt!

    • What issue did you find the lactose free yoplait coupons? Thanks

      • I get the Oregonian and it was several weeks ago…back when they had the buy 10 Lactose Free Yoplait for $? I ended up getting the coupons on Ebay because they were not in my paper I don’t think.

      • It was in the 3/11 SS.

    • Actually it is a 10 cent money maker!

      • how? is there a cat? because albertsons won’t round up the value past the price of the item. Thats true of all their doubling promotions.

      • During round up, a $0.20 coupon would round up to $0.80, but would not round higher than the price of the item. So, if the price of the yogurt is $0.79 each, then they would be free, but no overage. Still, free is great!

        • You are incorrect. Try it. All coupons from .25 to .99 round up to one dollar automatically, no matter what the price of the item. Overage will apply to basket purchase so prepare for it. The lactose free yogurt gives thirty cents overage per container.

  12. Jennifer G says:

Could or ads be different? (I live in eastern WA). We didn’t get the in ad coupon for the Aquafina.

  13. Also, there’s a $1/1 Ken’s salad dressing, 3/11 SS (mine is from the Oregonian). Expires 4/30.

  14. My albies had betty crocker cookie icing marked down to .99 from 3.99 and then I used the 1.00 off coupon….making it FREE

  15. Anyone do the mayo deal? My hubby went to do it for me and they wouldn’t give him the buy 2 get one free deal. Anyone else have a problem. I understand only being able to use 2 coupons and not 3.

    • Just FYI: I called Corporate (Albertsons) and they said that YES, you can use a q on the free item…..I had them send me an email confirmation and got it within 24 hrs….I printed it and it is with me when I shop.

  16. I’m really surprised no body is mentioning the free kraft mac & cheese! There are .25 coupons on Ebay making the regular free because it’s .97 But also the premium is free too with the same coupons because they are on sale for 1.50 b2g1.

    • Lori McK says:

Thank you! Thank you! I didn’t even think to look for mac and cheese coupons. I just scored some on ebay. Now just crossing my fingers they arrive in time!

  17. Hey all!! I just picked up 10 free Ken’s Salad dressing. They were on sale for .99 two limit and I used $1.00 off one Ken’s dressing exp date 4/30/12. I am in Lakewood, WA.

    • Michelle says:

You can also check with your store, YMMV on it, but my store lets us do multiple transactions and get however many we want. The store manager said he didn’t care how many we bought…we just had to do separate transactions so it’d ring up correctly.

  18. IF anyone still has the Head and Shoulders coupon BOGO coupon, I shop at the one, I think it’s listed as Gary Lane, over by Wal-mart just outside of Garden City, anyways they got Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner on Clearance, for 2.99 shampoo and 2.89 conditioner…the cashier made the free item the 2.99 one and SO I got them for 1.445 Each! SCORE!!!!! Snatch um up while you can!!!!
