How are you doing with your Grocery Budget?

Did you know we have a weekly challenge going?  Lucky for you, it’s not too late to join!  Here are the details about our 2012 Grocery Budget Challenge. Even if you are not yet using coupons you need to start saving by setting some goals!

We hope you will join us! Set a goal today and get on the path to taking control of your grocery budget!

Here is how some of the fabs are doing…

Monica: Feeding a family of 4

Monthly grocery budget: $150

Spending this week: $9.02
Savings this week: $135.09

Spending for November: $99.60
Savings for November:  $392.70

Year to date spending: $1,408.46
Year to date savings: $2,798.93

I went to Fred Meyer, and Albertsons this week to get my groceries with coupons! When shopping at Albertsons I bought gift cards so I could earn $20 catalinas, which saved me a lot of money on my grocery budget this month!

Becky: Feeding a family of 3

Monthly grocery budget: $200

Spending this week: $33.86
Savings this week: $65.15

Spending for November: $210.34
Savings for November: $547.95

Year to date spending: $2199.97
Year to date savings: $4373.32

I have been dealing with a lot of morning sickness (and mine comes with oh so fab migraines!), so instead of baking pies for Thanksgiving, I ran into Pauls and bough them! YIKES! $31.50 later, not so frugal, but way easier on my super sniffer! I’d love to hear your cures for Morning Sickness!

  1. I apologize if I’m entering my data for this week twice. I honestly don’t remember if I’ve done it already, and I can’t see the existing list like we could earlier in the year.

Congratulations on your upcoming new addition, Becky! How very exciting!! I have no ideas on curing morning sickness. I had it with all 5 of mine and that’s how come I gained so much weight. Nibbling food all the time helped. >.<

  2. Congrats, Becky, on the upcoming addition to your family. Maybe you should list Family of 3.5. :-) Try ginger candy for the morning sickness. I bought from GingerPeople.com. Sucking on hard ginger candy helps with my motion sickness, too. Good luck and many blessings!

  3. There is a great post about the different theory’s of morning sickness here:

    http://www.mommypotamus.com/the-real-cause-of-morning-sickness/

You also might look around her site for some ideas as to what is causing your migraines. Good Luck!

  4. So sorry you’re sick! That is the worst! Smelling essential oils has really helped me. Smelling peppermint or ginger essential oils (be sure to only get 100% pure, high quality therapeutic ones) can really help. My friend actually used wild orange as well. Feel better!

  5. Oops, calculated the wrong amount for savings this month. Should have been $247.39.
