Fun & Frugal DIY Valentine Wreath

I wanted a Valentine’s wreath for my door. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do so I went to the Dollar Tree to see what I could find. {I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot so the Dollar Tree was the perfect place to go. } I found these fun heart picks and then went from there!

Here’s everything you need to make this:

  • Heart Picks
  • Empty frame
  • White spray paint
  • Wooden LOVE words
  • White ribbon
  • 3M Hook
  • Hot Glue Gun

If you are like me, you probably have lots of old frames that you can use. I just went through my stash and found the perfect one.

I found one that was the size I wanted for my front door and spray painted it white. It took 2 coats to cover it.

Once the frame is dry, you are ready to get to work! The cute hearts I found at the dollar tree have a wooden skewer in them. My lovely assistant, Averi, helped me pull them out.

The hearts are Styrofoam and the skewer pulls right out and just leaves a little hole.

I placed my hearts around the frame to get the spacing right before I glued them on.

Once you have them how you want them, hot glue them in place.

I knew I wanted something hanging in the middle of the frame. I had picked up this cute wooden LOVE sign at the Dollar spot {in Target} and decided it would be perfect. A big heart or even a bow would be cute too.

I used my staple gun {you can find one here} to staple some white ribbon to the back of the love cut out. If the staple doesn’t go in all the way, a little tap with a hammer helps it get into place.

Then staple the white ribbon to the frame.

Now you are ready to hang it on your door! I have a 3m hook that I use to hang wreaths and other things on my front door. {you can find some here}. I prefer them to the wreath hangers that go over the top of the door.

I love how it turned out. It was a nice quick project that cost under $7 for me to make!
