I love to take my kids to Subway! As a parent I know how hard it can be to get kids to eat healthy but I can always count on nutritious low fat meals at Subway, that they will not only eat but love too! Subway is one of their favorite restaurants!

Recently, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) did a study of “Kids’ Meals: Obesity and Poor Nutrition on the Menu,” . They investigated the nutritional quality kids’ meals served at the nation’s top 50 chain restaurants.

SUBWAY® restaurants stood out as the only chain to meet CSPI’s criteria – for their entire FRESH FIT^TM for KIDS menu. The findings were featured in an article by USA Today!

Here are some interesting facts about this study:

CSPI found that fried chicken fingers, burgers, and French fries continue to dominate the kids’ meals landscape, with 97 percent of the nearly 3,500 meal possibilities not meeting CSPI’s nutrition criteria.
All of SUBWAY® restaurant’s eight children’s meals, which include a 4” sub, apple slices and low-fat milk or bottled water, amount to less than 430 calories, less than 35% fat, 0 % trans fat, 35% added sugars and 770 mg of sodium, and meet both the expert and industry nutrition standards (CSPI’s and the National Restaurant Association’s Kids LiveWell Nutrition Standards).
SUBWAY FRESH FIT FOR KIDS™ meals have been approved by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with whom SUBWAY® restaurants has partnered to help fight childhood obesity.

CVS has some great baby products. Many times buying generic can be a fabulous way to save money on great products. I received one of these baskets myself and found that I love the stuffy nose wipes. I keep a set in my car and they have really come in handy this cold season with kids blowing boogers in the back seat! I also love the ibuprofen that comes with a dropper for easy dispensing too. As a mother of boys it seems you can never have too many wet wipes on hand.
