A lot of people are already familiar with this caramel apple Snickers salad recipe from family gatherings or potlucks. If you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest you find a reason to whip some up as soon as possible!

It may look a bit strange at first (I mean, who puts candy in a salad?), but trust me, it’s a must-try. This is definitely not a healthy salad – it is a lot more like a dessert! But hey, there are a lot of apples in it, so I guess that’s good. 😉

Why This Snickers Salad Recipe is so Popular

There’s a reason why this caramel apple Snickers salad recipe is so popular! It really is delicious! It’s also easy to make which is why I love it as a side dish or easy no-bake dessert for a potluck or BBQ.

This snickers salad really does have a caramel apple flavor to it too! The tart, crisp Granny apples with the chewy caramel and milk chocolate from the Snickers is such a yummy combo. And easier to make than caramel apples!

Snickers Salad Serving Tips

The salad fits well in an 8×8 dish, but you can also serve it in a bowl or any similar sized serving dish. Then drizzle some caramel topping sauce over the top. Gotta distinguish it from the potato salads, right? 😉

Note: If you want to make your own caramel sauce, here’s an easy homemade caramel sauce recipe.

I also like to reserve a few pieces of the Snickers candy bar to sprinkle on top along with the caramel sauce, so people can have a better idea about what is in it.

Serve this candy apple salad at your next potluck or BBQ and it is sure to be a big hit! Don’t expect to have any leftovers. 😉

  • I use the 5-oz box of dry instant pudding mix and only add the 1/2 cup of milk. It turns out pretty thick, as in the pictures. I wonder what the difference was…Was your whipped topping runny? Did you use the 5-oz size of the pudding mix?

  • Do you think this could be made the night before or would the apples get brown?

    • I think that it would work out, but I haven’t tried it myself. Since the apples are pretty well coated, I don’t they will turn brown. I wonder if they wouldn’t be quite as crisp though.

  • Just popped this into the fridge. I accidently bought milky ways instead of snickers, but I tasted it and it was great. The only thing is I need to add a few more to balance out the apples (amount wise). They’ll be having this tomorrow, and I had to make it tonight because I have to work. It looks great and tastes great.

  • I just checked it and the parts of the apple that were not covered in the whipped topping mix were a bit brown, very tiny spots, but the taste wasn’t different at all. It tastes great. That said, I’m going to add some more milky ways or some snickers(as the recipe calls for). It’s definitely sweet!

  • I made these for a super bowl party last month and they were a hit! I saw the cheesecake pudding mix at the grocery store and used that instead…it was a success!!

  • How many people does this recipe serve?

  • Would using apples that were frozen make it soggy and less tasty?

    • I have no experience with frozen apples, so I’m not sure. But if the texture of the apples usually becomes soggy when thawed from frozen, my guess is that you’d be right.

  • Any suggestions for turning this into a bite sized treat?

    • Hmm. Well, there might be some fun ways to serve it as such.
Maybe you could skewer a piece of chopped apple and a mini Snickers on a toothpick. Mix up the pudding mixture and dip the skewers in to coat.
Or just spoon the prepared mixture into muffin liners or another individual-size container.
Let me know if you come up with some great ideas!

  • I made 2 batches. One is thick. One is soupy. The only thing I did different was added the milk a little at a time to the thick batch. How can i thicken up the other one? Add more pudding?

    • Hi, Rae! I haven’t had the problem before so I’m not sure what I would do. I suppose you could add a little cornstarch to thicken it. Let me know if you figured out why that happened and how to fix it. Thank you!
