Comments

  1. At the Greenhurst Albertsons, they have a MILLION Tylenol Precise patches which are free with the coupon that we got in this Sunday’s paper!

    • Forgot to say… the Tylenol Patch coupon is good until the 27th and the price is good at this store until the 28th!!!!!

  2. Just bought 10 Campbell’s Soup at Hand, using the coupons from 1/8 SS. Was expecting to pay 55 cents each but a $2 Catalina popped out, making the soup 35 cents each!

  3. Do You have to buy 10 items for the mix, match and save deal, to get the items for $1.00?

  4. isnt there some healthy cjoice coupons out there?

  5. I just started using whole chickens to cook with (had never cooked a whole chicken before two months ago!). I never paid attention to what prices had been posted before. I have noticed that two packs at Winco typically stay at .89 a pound. Does it usually get much lower then .79 a pound? Id like to stock up my freezer but can wait if deals get better! Thanks!!

    • I have seen whole chickens for .59 a pound in the past, but rare. It seems .79 is the going rate for stock up price on whole chickens.

      • Just went to Albies to get the chicken since it was listed as a “red star” item. (I am BRAND new to couponing). Just an FYI. the “regular” price was .99 a pound, so with the coupon I was only saving 20cents per pound. I *assumed* it would be a better deal. Still a pretty good deal, but not amazing. Just an FYI for those out there who, like me, had no idea what the “regular” price would be.

  6. sesame street says:

There is also a CAT available on the V8 products. Not sure of the specifics on it. but I pulled a $2.50 CAT out of the garbage from V8. I will find it and post specifics later.

    • sesame street says:

Now Save Even More! Buy any V8 Beverages (46 oz or larger) Between 1/23 and 2/19.
      Buy (3) and get $2.00
      Buy (4) and get $2.50
Buy (5) or more and get $3.00….
Coupon off your next shopping order.

So by looking at these, the sale and available coupons…
The V8 smoothie will not work because it is the 36 oz.
The V8 Fusion will come out to .87 for the 46 oz with the 2/$4 sale currently running along with the $1/2 coupon expiring 2/19, when you buy 4. That is factoring in the $2.50 CAT that will print.
This is not factoring in the possibility of doublers coming. So it could get better.

      • Where did you get this information?? I went today and the clerks could not find this in their catalina book nor had they heard of this. Could I contact the catalina company to get the coupon?? If so, what is the number. Thanks for the help.

        • sesame street says:

All of this information was on the CAT itself. I could not find it in any of the catalina listings as well. However if you did make a qualifying purchase if you call the catalina company they should send you a coupon. I’ve never dealt with them for this so I’m not sure of the procedure. Good luck. HTH. And Britta, yes they just threw it away. Not the first time either.

      • The Catalina is for V-8 items over 46 ounces, so that excludes the smoothies.

    • Britta McNish says:

Seriously? Someone just threw away a $2.50 catalina??? Wow.

  7. Still have questions about the FREE MILK promo from last week. Almost all of the Albertsons in the Boise area will give the full $4.50 area and one store manager called Corporate and called back and confirmed that is the new policy. However, Albertsons on Federal Way refuses to do so, despite being told this information. Is there anywhere to find the policy? What is everyone else experiencing?

    • Britta McNish says:

One checker I talked with at the Cherry Lane Meridian store said they don’t do it at that store unless the milk is at or above $4.50. He did say he accidentally let one lady get 2 gallons and the coupon went through for the full amount, but he told her he wasn’t paying attention and not to expect that to happen again. It doesn’t sound like all the checkers are in the know yet.

    • honestly? I would get the store manager, and call corporate right then and there in front of the store manager and have them talk to that manager. or else if you have another store close to you, don’t use your milk coupons at the Fed Way store!! It’s so irritating (whether it’s Albies or Walmart or wherever) when the stores don’t follow coupon policy. Makes for very frustrated shoppers!!!

    • I was not given the full $4.50 at 5-Mile/Overland either. I generally do not have good experiences at this particular Albies though, so, it’s my own fault for choosing to stop there to pick up the milk.

      • What I can’t figure out is why the manager from State/Glenwood said it is new policy (which she called corporate on) and all the other stores aren’t complying. I definitely see that the Federal Way Albies has gone downhill 100% in the past few years. Very frustrating.

        • If you go to albertsons.com and look at the coupon policy, it specifically states The coupon redemption value on ‘Free’ coupons may not exceed the value of the item. So, if your milk was less than $4.50, you should not get the full value of that coupon. The coupon is UP TO $4.50 off 1 gallon of milk. So you were lucky that you were getting the full value of the coupon for your purchase.

          • I totally was expecting to just get my 3.19 off with my milk coupon.. esp since it said up to 4.50.. however the cashier tried to put in the 3.19 and the computer insisted on taking off 4.50.. so she was like,, i guess you get 4.50 off.. which was sweet since i bought produce also..

      • That Albertsons is one of my least favorite and it’s in my neighborhood. I’d really rather drive to Caldwell than have to use that Albies.

    • Wow I’ve just moved near the Federal Way store, and I have never had a problem with that store yet. The staff is extremely nice to me, and like I said I’ve never had a problem. And granted some stores have been giving the whole $4.50 to people, I’m pretty sure that the catalina says good towards 1 gallon of milk UP TO $4.50, therefore they are using the coupon correctly, and your wanting to use it incorrectly is what makes it hard for all the other couponers. But if you hate that store so much, feel free to go elsewhere, it just makes more items on the shelf for us couponers shopping there that follow the rules and are using our coupons correctly.

    • Naw, I didn’t have any questions. I just bought Trumoo chocolate milk. Used the $4.50 catalina plus a 55 cent coupon.

  8. Why are meat items(except chicken) never included in the ad summaries? It seems this way for all the store ad match ups. Are they just never a good price? I NEVER know what is a good deal on beef and pork products like steaks, loins, roasts etc. and trying to figure that out can be difficult. Can you ladies create an excel price point just on meat types/cuts of meat and what is a good price? I used your spreadsheet one for the pantry items to educate myself on what I should be paying for a good deal on pantry products. But I have no idea on the meats. Our freezer is low and we want to use some of our tax return money to start restock it. Thanks ladies for all you do!

    • Britta McNish says:

      Zaycon!

    • Look at the post more closely…:

      Final Price: $1.94

      ★ Chicken of the Sea Chunk White Tuna $.69 w/in-ad coupon {Limit 4} (3 Days Only, Fri-Sun)

      • I know, I have looked at this post closely as well as previous posts. I never see stars next to beef and pork products. Where is the best place to get your meats (other than Zaycon) for a great price?

        • I was just looking at the same thing. Zaycon is coming with bacon but their price is 2.99. I love Albertsons bacon at the butcher and this price certainly beats Zaycon but I’d love to know if there’s even better.

        • You sort of have to figure out what your personal price point on proteins is. Personally, for beef and pork I won’t pay more than $1.99 per lb. Certain things will never hit that sale price so keep your eyes peeled at the clearance part of your meat dept Monday morning and/or Tuesday night/Weds after the ads change. Stores need to move all of the things packaged from the weekend and previous sale so you will see alot of 30% & 50% stickers…something that is usually 3.99lb will now be in my price point. Safeway usually does this throughout the week with things from the special meat case. One morning, during the Christmas break, I scored a ton of beef ribs, boneless chops, Italian sausages & steaks for right at $20 in one trip to Safeway.

  9. Is the B1G1 pork loin Hormel?

    • Helen in Meridian says:

Yes it is the Hormal pork loins. I love to grill them on my panini grill, slice on the diagonal and pour some raspberry chipotle sauce over them.

    • sesame street says:

It is the Hormel, however after looking at the store it is only the original (non-flavored) that is B1G1. Which means that if you were planning on using the $1 off any flavored Hormel tenderloin coupon it will not work. This is one bummed woman!

      • Hormel’s own web site lists “original” as a flavor. Perhaps you could print out a screen grab from the site and take it with you to the store. That is my plan.

  10. There is a Trident gum coupon out there ($1/3 single packs). My feeling is that Albertson’s WILL let you use this coupon on the 3-pack packages…any thoughts?

    • If the coupon specifically states it is to be used off of single packs, it is coupon fraud to use them to use on the 3-pack packages, since those are multi-packs. Just because a coupon goes through without beeping, or a cashier allows it doesn’t make it ok. I see your thinking on this one, but the coupons really are meant when you are buying 3 separately single packages of the gum. Just my .02

  11. I live in Portland, Oregon and have gone to the Albertsons on SW Barnes Road on a few occasions. The prices that I find in store never seem to match the deals that are published. Overall, the prices in the store seem outrageously high. Does anyone else regularly shop at that location or have any info?

    • Albertsons is kind of well known for having high regular prices. I only shop there when they have really good sales that I can combine with a coupon (and if there’s doublers, even better!). I do find also, that when I go to Albies that sometimes the prices differ slightly also, even on the sale items. I just have to remember to take that into consideration and be able to decide whether the price differenve (if it’s more) is worth it.

  12. Anyone think there is doublers? Since there was some last week I doubt it…but I don’t understand when they put them out…so thoughts?

  13. Can we use Two coupons when doing the buy one get one free?

  14. Smart source from sunday paper on Jan 8th

  15. Is this – $1/1 V8 V-Fusion Smoothie, 36oz 01/08 SS (EXPIRES 2/19/12) – a printable coupon, or what?
