  1. This isn’t a criticism but rather a sincere question …

Why do you consider the $1 basic lunchables to be a good deal? The amount of crackers, processed lunch meat and cheese in a lunchables would cost mere pennies (or less) if you were to assemble a similar sized snack from foods in your pantry or fridge. I call it a “snack” because the volume of food in a little lunchable isn’t enough for a meal for my daughter, not even when she was a toddler. Considering you don’t ever pay $1 for a single snack like a granola bar (which has a many calories as a little lunchable), why would a $1 lunchable be a good deal?

Again, I’m not trying to be critical, just trying to understand the logic behind that one.

    ~Susan

    • Hi Susan,

The price is considered a good price for lunchables bought as such, compared to their regular price. You are correct that it does cost more than some other snacks, or more than it would for you to make your own if you got good deals on the separate components and made them yourself. But if you were to buy a lunchable, this is a decent price to pay for it compared to it’s normal shelf price.

    • This price is paying for people to do the assembling work for you. Sometimes it’s about the convenience! :)

  2. My Albertson’s is doing doublers this Sunday, January 2, through Tuesday, January 4th. I have a sheet with doublers that one of the workers gave to me.

    • Hello!
Where is your Alibes? Does anyone know if Boise/Meridian is doing doubles? That would make the t.p. and detergent way better. I am totally a Charmin and Tide snob!

    • I’m trying to feed my family of 4 for only $23.07 a week in 2011… so BRING ON the doublers :)

      • Mavis — you must have an incredible food storage… I can’t imagine feeding my family on $80. We’d eat Ramen noodles until there was a great sale on something else :)

        • I think a healthy stockpile is key… I think it will be fun… either that or we will all be eating beans and rice for a looooong loooong time :)

      • GOOD FOR YOU MAVIS!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

I give myself a budget of $160 a month total for groceries, toiletries, and diapers. I always come under budget. I have a family of 6 and only one of them is a toddler my other three kids are growing teenage boys ages 16, 14, 12 that can really put down the grub and out eat my husband any day. HA! The real funny part about it is that our house is filled with name brand products now which it never was before I started couponing two years ago; and we eat very well. I am able to make smart dinner choices that are healthy and always use leftovers to create another meal which really saves on the budget! I created an excel worksheet so I can keep track of my budget and it is really fun at the end of the month to see my total spent, total saved and what I could have spent.

YOU GO GIRL!! I’M RIGHT THERE WITH YA!!

      • wow, I will be impressed if you could feed your family for that cheap. Apparently I need to take lessons from you!

    • I live near Cody, WY.

  3. Anyone know if we are getting doublers this weekend in Southeast Idaho?

  4. I am just curious if the $20 mail in rebate for select P&G products…. Is the $50.00 after coupons or does that matter?

  5. Thanks for the reminder for the rebates. I got mine in the mail today.

  6. Can you explain how to get free wipes with the Jumbo Pampers? The PG November B1G1 Free wipes coupon says Maximum value $3.50 and for pampers thick 72 wipes? Just wondering if I can use it for the $5.99 wipes and have them only take away $3.50. Thank you.

  7. Thanks for the tip on the tp!! I am too a charmin snob…i was going to go to rite aid cause i had some uprewards but it’s about $2 more….but it’s much cheaper at albertsons!! I can use the uprewards on somethign else!

  8. With the P&G Promo, do you have to spend $20 after the coupons have been factored in, or before the coupons are factored in? I guess I’m asking if the total after coupons can be less than $20 and it still trigger the catalina? Thanks.

  9. Do you know if they are doubling in Wichita Falls, TX?
