  1. Sweet! Some pasta sauce to go with all the pasta I bought last week. By any chance do you know if the Garden Combo variety is included?

  2. MaryBeth says:

I read on HappyMoneySaver’s facebook page that we are getting doubles again this weekend.

    • There is rumor going around in my area too that we are getting double…..however it will be a “while” before we get more, IDK if any of this holds true.

    • My cashier last night told me there will be doublers again this weekend for the forth week in a row. I’m in burley

      • I was wondering this because I still have some Ronzoni coupons left. I’d love to get more free pasta!:)

    • My cashier in IF told me that there will not be doublers this weekend (confirmed by the manager). She said instead, starting next weekend and running all summer we will have doublers Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday! WOOT!

      • So no doublers in IF 6/5-6/7? But there will be doublers every week after that?

        • That’s what she said. Every weekend this summer starting next week. The manager came up and said no doublers this week though. I don’t have proof, but that’s what they said.

  3. Hi! Isn’t the Hormel coupon applicable only to the “flavored” meat? The coupon says, “Save $1.00 on any one (1) Hormel Always Tender flavored meat (any variety).

I took that to mean that it can be used on the flavored tenderloins and pre-marinated cuts, but not just “always tender” run-of-the-mill pork chops.

I try very hard to be an ethical couponer. I have seen women in front of me in line trying to pass off Kraft Farmhouse Dressing coupons on regular Kraft Dressing, purchase the smaller ounce bottle when the coupon clearly states it is on a larger size, and buy 3 Zone bars at a time during TTV sales, even though it is bolded on the coupon “one per transaction.”

I’m not trying to be negative, but just the other day I found a coupon match up here for Pepperidge Farms cookies and milk, with the match-up on the wrong item when the coupon *clearly* stated what it was valid for. With the massive growth of couponing, we all have to be extra careful right now! Read the whole coupon, along with the size restrictions, number allowed per transaction, and what varieties are included.

    • Okay – call me OCD or whatever – I just needed to know.

I called Hormel customer service. The customer service rep said that the $1 off coupon is intended ONLY on “flavored” meat. She actually teased me a little. I asked, “can I use it on boneless chops?” and she said, “well… they aren’t flavored, so….”

It is not for any unflavored pork products. Also, I asked if there were different lines of Hormel pork products. She said there is no such thing as purchasing only the “always tender” variety of Hormel pork because ALL Hormel products are trademarked “Hormel Always Tender” there are not specific ‘always tender’ and ‘regular’ varieties.

      • I found that the coupons in the 5/8 SS said flavored on them, but there were printables a few weeks ago that just said ‘any always tender pork product.” I used the printables on the chops and the insert coupons on the flavored tenderloin.

        • True, but the coupon mentioned in the scenario above is not a printable. And it clearly says “flavored”.

I honestly didn’t think twice about it until I went to email the ‘hot deals’ to my Albertson’s grocery manager, and realized I was going to tell him to order in a ton of pork on a scenario that wasn’t (or shouldn’t) work at the check out.

I doubt he’d be very appreciative if (1) he orders in a bunch of perishable product that doesn’t move or (2) thousands of these coupons are submitted for reimbursement and rejected.

      • Good heavens, get a life.

        • Leah - Twin Falls says:

          That’s kind of mean.

Let’s keep these talks positive. We are all trying to set examples here of good behavior. It seems it’s not just the *KIDS* who are trying to cyber-bully.

          • Shannon says:

I agree, Kelsey was just trying to help. We should all be honest in our couponing. I appreciate her looking into things, because I really want to use coupons for what they are intended for or else it ruins it for everyone.

        • Becca- You have ruined my good name! Do you really think that was an appropriate thing to say? Kelsey was helping us all out by finding out what we should do with our coupon and how to do it ethically. I thank her, and you should too, if you want this couponing stuff to stay possible.

      • Kelsey,
I think its good you are making sure to use your coupons as they are intended. Good for you! You cant make everyone happy in the world but I am sure that there are some people grateful for you telling us what you found out.
        Thanks for sharing.

        • Oh no worries! I’ve been couponing since January and learned so much so quickly (thanks to great sites like these) that I started holding free couponing classes in my home. To date, I’ve taught 48 other people how to coupon!

When J’aime Kirlew did all of her craziness on Extreme Couponing, it made everyone with a binder a potential creep. So staying on the up and up is really important to me. My store manager trusts me and my cashiers trust me. I’m not going to do a deal that isn’t legitimate.

It took me 2 minutes to look up Hormel’s customer service number and get connected to a customer service rep. I’d much rather spend 5 minutes on the phone than half an hour at the store putting together a cart full of pork that I can’t use my coupons on once I get to the front of the line. Sharing that info here with fellow couponers was meant to be help you all in the same way. Unfortunately, a smile or good intentions doesn’t come across well in black and white.

    • Kelsey,

You are correct! We too try our best to be very ethical in the deals we post and in the way we teach newbies, but we make mistakes. We rely on our FAB readers such as yourself to bring errors like this to our attention!! We deleted the match-up. We were confusing that coupon with the recent printable one that was on ANY Hormel Fresh Always product. The one in the insert is in fact for the flavored!!

Please don’t feel you are being negative! We really appreciate you guys looking out for us and our readers!!

  4. anita b says:

Don’t forget about the $1 off Viva in the summer sizzling booklet, it makes them 4.99

  5. Colleen says:

When a coupon is on e-bay is costs money. So as a shopper it does effect the money spent, sometimes it is misleading the money you can save.

    • Shannon says:

I was skeptical about purchansing coupons too. Buying a coupon, doesn’t that defeat the purpose? But, I have now ordered coupons many times with much success! I just ordered 20 $1/2 Ragu coupons for $3.60 (incl. shipping) on ebay. If there are doublers this weekend, thats .09 cents a jar! Great deal!

      • That is exactly how I factor in if the coupons are worth buying or not! Take the total I spent to buy them and the total it will cost me to buy the product at the store, add it together and find the total cost per item then figure out if it is worth it or not! Sometimes it totally is and sometimes not so much! Just have to calculate before you buy them, not just jump on something that sounds good!

        • Shannon says:

It also helps to buy them early, because prices go up on ebay once there is a good sale to match it with. Sometimes the price is too high, and it doesn’t make sense to spend that much. Also, I always use the “Buy it now” and I don’t waste my time bidding…

  6. Kristin says:

I’ve been dabbling in the coupon game for awhile, but I have never before “placed an order” at Albertsons. Could someone walk me through that process or at least tell me where to start? :) I’m in Nampa.

    • Danielle says:

The website talked about this just a couple wks ago when the ronzoni garden delight was free . . . I couldn’t find it again.
But . . . Just call or go in to your Albs and ask for the grocery manager, let them know how much and what you want. And it is better to do it Tuesday (day before) or Wednesday (day of) the new sales ad; then it should be in-store by Friday or Saturday for you to pick up.
      Good luck!

      • I’ve tried twice and haven’t had luck either time. (Pocatello,Id Albies) A couple of weeks ago I did the Emerils Breakfast on the Go and this week I did the BBQ sauce. I mentioned to the grocery manager that I wouldn’t be in until mon. evening. (I live an hour away from Albies, but go there every Mon. evening for dancing lessons for my daughters). By the time I got there in the p.m. they were gone…. and I had pre-ordered mine on Thurs…. one of my friends was there in the a.m. and got hers, so it wasn’t a matter of them not getting any… it is frustrating when you take the time to call in and order, and they tell you… yes, we’ll order it for you, and then they just give it away to the first people that are there. It’s particularly hard when you live so far away!! The asst. manager went in the back to see if she could find anymore with no luck. She ended up telling me she’d accept my doublers when they came in with my raincheck. So while I was checking out I had one of my daughters go over to the service desk to get the rain check, and the lady there about bit my daughters head off when she told her about honoring the doublers. When I got there her attitude changed a little, but she was still having a fit about it being against store policy to double a raincheck. She ended up calling up the asst. grocery manager that approved it, but was hollering about it better have the asst. man. initials on it not hers… So I left with a raincheck that indicated doublers would be honored, but the next morning the Asst. mang. called and said she couldn’t do it, but would give me a gift card for the difference instead. Stated it would be coupon fraud if she did honor the doublers. I certainly don’t want to commit fraud….and appreciate the gift card. I’ve been trying so hard to not make a stink or cause a problem cause I want to keep everything on a positive note, but it’s getting frustrating!!

        • I have had good luck with “pre-paying” during the sale. I just go to customer service, buy the product they are out of with coupons & doubles, and then they issue a rain check with my receipts stapled to it. The manager then knows how many to order, because I’ve prepaid. Usually they call me in 3-5 days to tell me my items are in. It is waiting in a cart by customer service & I walk in, show my receipts & rain check and wheel it out. I love it!

  7. Danielle says:

I’m fairly new to couponing and don’t shop Albertsons unless I can get GREAT deals. The last time I shopped there I wanted to purchase the BOGO pork chops and attempted to use a $1 off coupon for each package. The checker told me I could not use a coupon for the “free” item. Does this contradict the Albertsons coupon policy? Thanks for your help :)

    • Leah - Twin Falls says:

Yes it does. Next time you go, make sure you print the coupon policy out and keep it in your binder. Then when you run into this you can show them that it says you CAN use a coupon on the free item.

      • Where does it say that in the coupon policy? I’ve read over it so many times and I don’t see that.

        • Copy and pasted:

Can we take 2 manufacturer coupons on a buy one get one free promotion?
          • Yes – one manufacturer coupon per item-even if the one coupon says free, or there is a big BOGO promotion

          • I don’t see any questions in the policy or anything about BOGO sales promotions. Sorry, I’m not trying to be difficult, but I want to make sure I’m getting it right and know where to point the cashiers if I have a problem ever.

  8. Do you think I can price match the pasta at walmart?

    • Jessica B says:

yes, I have price matched before on a buy 10 mix/match promo when Alberstons was out of stock and I just made sure I bought 10 of the sale items and they had no problem price matching.

      • Leah - Twin Falls says:

I went today and price matched the brownies that were .49 when you buy 10. I asked if I had to buy 10 and they said no…but I did anyway! lol..

        • Jessica B says:

I’m glad you were able to get some! :) my store (caldwell store by the stadium) was out of stock and wouldn’t write me a raincheck for the price of .49, even though I wanted to buy 10.
I’ve looked at their raincheck policy online, and at the bottom of the ad page for the brownies it states they will issue rainchecks for sale items. completely confused over why they won’t write me one for the sale price?

  9. Please tell me, how do you get a hold of the Albertsons flyer a day ahead of time???

  10. Margie W. says:

I would like to comment on the Emerald Breakfast on the go! I pre-ordered them 2 weeks ago…eagerly awaiting the doubles for this past weekend. My customer service person @ Albies told me on Tuesday (today 5/31) his merchandise will be coming in….I saved all my doubles just for this….got to the Albies…the Emerald Breakfast on the go did not come in. They’re expecting it to be like the Purex deal a few weeks ago…I got a raincheck but I was so discouraged since I wanted to send my Marine son a box full of them. That was frustrating. Now what if the coupon expires? First time I ever pre-ordered…any advice anyone?

    • Leah - Twin Falls says:

Yikes! That’s what I’m afraid of when pre-ordering. I’ve never done it either. But I only coupon for few items. I don’t like taking 10 of anything unless it’s required to get the sale. Most everything seems to go on sale for a few weeks in a row or it pops up again in a month or so. I think people need to keep this in mind when they go shopping.

Let us know what happens. I hope it works out.

    • MIchelle says:

Call your store and see if they will let you pre-pay with your doublers and coupons. I have heard of people doing this before.

  11. Aimee in Meridian says:

How does the Alberson’s deal work 10 items get $5 off? If i get 20 items do I get $10 off? thank you

  12. For the spotlight savings promo, do you have to do separate trasactions for every ten you buy? Or could you do 20 items in the same transaction and still get the discount?

    • Aimee in Meridian says:

I called Albertsons every 10 items get you $5 one transaction. :)

      • Leah - Twin Falls says:

Sorry to press the issue… Can you do 20 items of qualifying product in ONE transaction and get $10 off?

        • Angela Erickson says:

no…u have to break it up…10 items per transaction

        • Aimee from Meridian says:

Yes. I called and talked to Albertsons on Cherry ln …

        • Yes you can do them all in one will just take off 5$ per 10 you buy..

          • Thanks ladies! I plan on getting 60 items so it will be so much easier to do them all in one or two transactions rather than 6…. but I’ll ask when I’m in the store just to make sure!

    • Yes you can do all 20 items in one transaction and get $10 off. Or you can do 30 items and get $15 off. I do it all the time.

  13. The breyers blast printable coupon from last week is 1.50/2. That will actually be a better deal than doubling the 1/3 coupon.

  14. for the oscar Mayer Basic Lunchables, those are not the ones with fruit, right?

    • Nicole B. says:

Right. They are also not the cracker combos, so I don’t think there is a coupon that matches the one on sale. Am I right ladies?

  15. For anyone who wanted the BarS franks, Kraft cheese, and buns this week but their store was out of stock (or in the case of my Albies, out of doublers), try Winco. The franks were $.68 and the buns were $.48/package (limit of 2 on the buns). I bought 2 packages of franks and 2 packages of buns for $1.32 using the $1/2 franks coupon.

The Kraft Deluxe cheese was $2.39, so $1.39 after the $1/1 printable coupon, for those interested,

This was at the Eagle store.

I’m not sure exactly how these prices compare to Albertsons — I didn’t do that math. It’s probably a little more, but still a really good deal, and definately less hassle.

  16. The Starbucks Icecream coupon is listed at WA but both my sister and I received this and we are in Boise! :)

  17. Melinda says:

I only looked over the comments briefly, so I apologize if somebody already posted this, but I wanted to let those of you in So Cal know that a new Book of Savings came out today…and there were doublers on the back page!!! The books are coming in the mail with the weekly ad, so make sure you don’t accidentally toss it 😀

  18. Thank you for the produce price comparison to Winco. A huge help!!

    • I find that every time I buy my fruit from WinCo, it goes bad within a couple days. The savings is worth it if I am willing to go back and get more a couple times a week. If someone doesnt live down the street like I do, its worth paying a little more. Although Albertsons’ fruit prices are a little too high for my wallet.

    • I bought produce at Winco that looked fine, and it spoiled within a couple of days. Never again will I get if from there.

      • Stephanie says:

ITA, glad I am not the only one. I had cucumbers mushy and gross within 3 days. Do NOT like their produce. Rather buy from Walmart…

  19. I can’t find the Ragu coupons… Did anyone in the Seattle area get this coupon?

  20. ★Ronzoni Pasta $1.25/$.75
Use $1/2 Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta
or $1/2 Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta
or $1/1 Ronzoni Pasta Coupons from 5/15/2011 SS Insert or $1/1 printable Ronzoni coupon on facebook
    Final price FREE – .50 {.25 moneymaker}

Did Idaho get this coupon????? i can’t find it. Thanks

  21. Just an idea on the Ragu, if we get TTV then the $.75/2 coupons on eBay are a good deal because you can only use 3 doublers and they must be purchased in groups of 10, and they are cheaper on eBay.

    10 Ragu $.99
    10 Coupons $.50/1
    3 Doublers
    Total: $3.40

    10 Ragu $.99
    10 Coupons $.75/2
    3 Doublers
Total: $3.90 (plus what you saved on the coupons)

I hope I did that math right. And I hope we are lucky with the TTV again. Anyone know if the rumors are true?

    • I found $1/2 coupons on ebay for Ragu. If we get doublers the deal I plan on doing is:
      6 Ragu $0.99 = 5.94
      4 Garden Delight $0.75 = $3
      Subtotal = 8.94
      3 $1/2 Ragu = $3 ($6 if doublers come)
      4 $1/1 Garden Delight = $4
      Total = $1.94, or $-1.06 with doublers

I’ll probably get some apples or the $0.99 tortillas to throw in there too since Albertson’s won’t allow cash back. I’ve had some cashiers who will allow the coupon to be higher as long as the total sale is not negative.

  22. I am a very new couponer of 2 weeks so this may not be as good of a deal as I think, but I wanted to share anyway. In ALBS ad they had BOGO free for Advil (with preferred card)

So I purchased the 2 bottles of the 80ct. Advil for 9.99 and then I had a coupon for $4 off any 2 bottles of advil now making my price $5.99 for 2 bottles of advil valued at ($20).

    Now my question is this:
If I had been in town to get the Sunday paper I believe that their were doublers in there for ALBS and I could have saved up to $1.00 more off making my final price $4.99 for 2 bottles of Advil valued at ($20)??? Is this correct??

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

    • Not correct. They will only double up to a dollar on a coupon that is $1 or less. They wouldn’t have done anything with your $4 coupon as it was over the $1 amount. So no, not even doubling up to $1. Your deal was as good as it gets.

  23. christina says:

Hi, i was wondering about the Oscar Mayer lunchables… the only coupons on ebay say:
You are bidding on 20) Oscar Mayer Sub or Flatbread Sandwiches, Cracker Combos or New Sandwich Combos. They are 1$ off per item, these expire 7/10/2011
are these the right ones for the lunchables that are 10 for $10

    • At the stadium albertsons in caldwell it only includes the basic lunchables. They had the turkey/cheese, ham/cheese and pizza variety included.

      • christina says:

ok so those coupons that are on ebay wont work… right?
above it says check ebay and i checked the min this blog got posted and didnt see any other ones besides the on i listed or one with fruit… sorry if i am asking the same question. i am new at this. very confused!! :)

        • Heather says:

I used those coupons today at my ALBs without any issue…on those basic lunchables that were in the ad for $1 each…so free. I was early and my store hadn’t priced the product yet, so I don’t know if the flat bread, etc were on sale for $1 each too, but I was in a rush so I didn’t want to have to wait to find out so only picked up the ham/cheese, turkey/cheese ones. Hope that helps?! 😉

        • Stephanie says:

Christina – I talked to Kraft/Oscar Mayers, and the coupons on E-bay for the lunchables are not for the 10/$10 basic lunchables. The 10/$10 lunchables are called something like “Cracker Stackers,” and the “Cracker Combos” are completely different. The “Cracker Combos” are kind of geared more for adults, but anyway they are not matchable coupons because I was going to try and snag a bunch of them up too. I hope this helps because I did a bunch of research so I wasn’t buying a bunch of coupons that I could not use for my intended purpose!

  24. So…are we getting doublers?

    • Not this weekend, no. We ARE however getting them the next weekend.

      • How likely is it that Ragu will be on sale again next week like how the Ronzoni and Sweet Baby Rays were on sale a few weeks in a row?

      • Lindsey says:

How do you know there will not be doubles?

      • Lindsey says:

How do you know there will not be doubles this weekend?

        • The fact that we got them 3 weeks in a row was extremely rare. It is not likely that we would have gotten them again. Also we would know by now if we were getting them, and the fact that they are still not confirmed means we are not getting them.

  25. I can not find the breyers ice cream in the ad. Is this an in-strore special, or am I just blind today?

    • Jessica B says:

I’ts in the ad, if you look on the left hand side of the first page you should see a little flap with BOGO meat deals on it. its on the very back of that flap, its an in store coupon :)

  26. Tiffany says:

Just wondering about the Oscar Mayer Lunchmeat coupon, the coupon says $1/2, but can I just buy one and get $.50/1 instead?

    • Beth F. says:

Nope. When the coupon is for an amount off of 2, 3, etc… you have to purchase that number of items to use the coupon. They give us the amount for one item so we know how good a deal it is or isn’t.

  27. Tiffany says:

I’m wondering because in your example it only gave the price of one…

  28. Beth S. says:

My manager in Twin Falls said no doublers this week. They are getting a new cash register/computer program this weekend. Also bought 8 boxes of pasta (4 coupons) and 2 ragu sauces (2 coupons) and paid $3.46 after tax. Great sale.

  29. Bon5ter says:

No catalinas printing for the Viva paper towels.

  30. I’m confused about the All You magazine coupons. If the coupon specifically says “with the purchase of ALL YOU magazine” and the ALL YOU magazine is only available at Walmart or by subscription, than how would I be able to use this coupon anywhere else BUT Walmart? Is this a matter of taking the Albies Ad to Walmart to get the deals you mention above than? I just got a subscription recently and I don’t like shopping at Walmart unless I have too.

    • The magazine is sold at walmart yes. on occasion there are coupons that say redeemable at Walmart. All the other coupons are just manufacture coupons that are coming in that magazine. They can be used anywhere.

  31. Beth F. says:

What an awesome week, even if we don’t get doublers!

    • Kelly T says:

I have NEVER had a problem with Winco produce!! I am sad you gals do cuz it is so cheap!

      • Kelly T says:

Sorry that was for a different one! I was thinking the opposite. I was not even planning on shopping this week. May be I need to look back over the list. . .

  32. Shannon says:

I was shopping at the Albertsons on Federal way today and I was buying Peter Pan Peanut butter and Ronzoni Garden Delight pasta… 6 PB and 4 pasta to get the $5 of instantly when you buy 10 items. I had the $1 off one pasta coupon from facebook and they told me that they could not adjust the price of the pasta up to $1 or adjust the value of the coupon down to $.75 to make the pasta free for me. I was the only one in line and a manager came over and agreed with the cashier and told me I really needed to be careful about what I believed from those crazy couponing blogs… lol. She said it was coupon fraud for them to adjust the value of the coupon to .75 and then redeem it to the manufacturer for $1.
In the end I bought 10 peanut butters and got the $5 off as well as $.50 off Q’s for each jar and paid $.25 for the pasta instead of getting it free…. still a good deal.
I was just wondering how other Albertsons handle that situation. Do they usually adjust the price of the item or adjust the value of the coupon to take care of the overage?

    • Jessica B says:

They should have adjusted it, it’s in their policy.
      from their policy:
” Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will be adjusted to provide the maximum value, not exceeding the price of the item ”

if you don’t have their policy printed out, you might want to make a copy and bring it in with you, just so you have it and know whats allowed/not allowed. :) of course if the manager doesn’t know their own policy, it makes it difficult anyway LOL.

      you can print it here:

I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I know personally, i’m getting fairly frustrated with different policies at different stores and them making up their own policies instead of following the posted online company policy. :(

    • Nicole B. says:

Quote from the Albertson’s Coupon Policy:
“Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will be adjusted to provide the maximum value, not exceeding the price of the item”

Next time I would print the coupon policy and bring it in so they can see. It’s corporate, so individual stores shouldn’t be able to deny it.

      Print Coupon Policy:

    • Shannon says:

Thanks for the info! I will definitely take the policy in with me next time!

  33. Desi from Burley says:

Burley Albertsons says no doublers this week

  34. coralee says:

Is anyone finding the Snapple rebate forms and if so what stores?

  35. Nicole in Wyoming says:

I bought 2 boxes of Rice Crispies and 2 boxes of Frosted Flakes and no catalina for free milk. Oh well. They are the BIG boxes and we’re almost out at our house, so I think it’s still a good deal.

  36. Keep an eye out for a new cocacola: 125 years of summer fun booklet (i found them on an end isle with the coke 12pks). there’s $85+ coupon savings inside. you can get Betty Crocker suddenly pasta salad kits for .50 / box! i got mine free with the last doublers :) & also this week, save .50 / box of the keebler/cheezits crackers.
    other coupons:
    LaBanerita or Ole corn/flour tortillas
    Herdez salsa
    Snyders pretzels
    Morningstar Farms
    Keebler/sunshine multi-packs snacks
$2 off large soda @ AMC theaters
    …and MORE!

  37. Are strawberries at a stock up price yet? Wasn’t sure what the best price was for them. Thanks!

    • kristi m. says:

I was able to score strawberries at Walmart and Winco for $.98 per clamshell several weeks ago for my freezer jam. That was about the lowest they went last year. Haven’t seen them that low since.
