  1. I just made a run to albies for the Kellogg’s deal, and the $6.00 is a instant saving even if you don’t buy the milk. This worked out great for me, we would not of used the milk anyway.

  2. JeanMichelle says:

Lysol Disinfectant Spray 24 oz can is $3.99, I went to 3 Albertsons Just to make sure in the Boise Meridian area and their not $2.00….Oh Well….

    • I saw it for $2 at 5 and O last night. I sure hope they did not change the price it was supposed to be good until Feb!

      • JeanMichelle says:

Nope price has changed, I was at Eagle and McMillian, Meridian/ Fairview, and Ustick Boise all were marked $4.99/ with card $4.29. but Rang up $3.99 at all the stores I had them scanned at three stores I was at but I will check the 5/O today also. Heck I Hope it is at that store.

  3. The Guerrero tortilla coupon is gone; and no more prints available for the Clorox one.

  4. I sure get fussy with Albertson’s doublers policy – my stores in Idaho Falls are only giving 1 ad out to each person. At least when they start on Sunday (which I don’t shop on) I started off with 5.

  5. Where do you see that the Lysol spray is 2 for 4? I went in and it was marked $4.29 and I don’t see if listed in the ad. I sure would like to get some, we use a lot of it.
    Thanks!

    • I saw it at Five Mile and OVERLAND in Boise. I wonder if they changed the price over night even thought the tag was marked price good til Feb 2nd. You are not the first one to mention this. I may go check it out again tonight?

      • Candee –

I went and checked again tonight and they had the sprays in the wrong spot so they were marked wrong. Sorry! :(

  6. I tried the cereal and free nature valley granola bar promo and the catalina didn’t print. I went to customer service to see what they knew and they had been informed that it wasn’t working properly so it was a long process to get it since they couldn’t get any codes to force it, but eventually they figured out something to honor it. Just know this one might be a little tricky.

what’s your advice on obtaining more twice the value coupons? the stores in Idaho Falls are very stingy, no matter when the doublers are…some stores won’t even hand them out :(

    • my mom lives in a senior apartment complex and they get the free ad papers on thursday. A couple of bundles are left and they never get used. Sooo i go there on thursday and pick up a handful of the papers when there are doublers or coupons in them.:)

      • Great advice Debbie!

TT If you know a paper carrier you may be able to get their leftovers, or try a gas station that sells papers. Also keep in mind that the weekly paper is pretty cheap .75 or less so it may even be worth it to buy a few if worse comes to worse. :) Good luck!

  7. I am in the Seattle area so I don’t know if the deals are the same but this is what I found.

    Colgate toothpaste $.99
    MQ $.50+doubler= +.01

    4 pack activia $2.29
    MQ $1.00+doubler= $.29

  8. Ladies! heads up. The Arm & Hammer Detergent is $3.79 this week. Head over to Arm & Hammer.com and print off $1.00/1 Arm and Hammer Gel Detergent. I happily purchased my 3 (coupon limit) for $1.79

  9. I’ve looked under all the kelloggs links in the database and cant find any coupons to match this promo or any in the paper….am I missing something?

  10. FYI..Pepsi 20 packs are on sale for $4.99 this week. At the 5 & O store all 20 packs have $1.00 off peelie. Doubled makes them $2.99/pack! It’s includes reg Pepsi, diet, mt dew, sierra mist etc.

  11. I just wanted to leave a thank you note in case this couponer checks this site. Thank you for going to walmart early wednesday morning and buying every single daily paper that they had. It was so sweet of you to think of the rest of us when you did that. None of us wanted to get good deals, none of us are trying to save money and feed our families either. I know you supposedly bought them for your “friends”. How generous of you. I am really getting fed up with all this couponing business it makes me not even want to try anymore. Why does this have to be so competitive. I underdstand that it is kinda first come first serve with this but really you had to buy them ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I would agree with Chrissy, it is VERY aggravating.

When you go to purchase an item, and it is all gone off the shelves. I think there needs to be some lessons on selflessness. Seems GREED has taken over in alot of the coupon areas.
I personally have to shop the lowest prices available, my husband has not been with full time work for at least 3 years. I have a dishwasher, and got a good deal on Cascade a year or so ago, but that has all been used up, and so was really looking forward to getting some of the Finish with the coupon/deal available the last couple weeks. I have tried 4 different stores and there is NOT ONE left on the shelf! Honestly?? Why not consider others when purchasing those cart loads of items?? I have tried using the homemade dishwashing detergent but it DOES NOT clean the dishes…I need something cheap, but good. Not to mention the gas it cost some of us to drive all the way into these stores, for these items to only find that someone closer has been selfish and taken them before anyone else has had a chance.
I too, have become very disgusted and aggravated with coupon, and in fact, quit for several months.

      • To Chrissy and Dalina-

        First off…Seriously?

I understand the frustration that can happen when you go to a store with great expectations only to find the shelves bare. Been there, done that. However, you both seem to be CONVINCED that one or two people are going to the local stores and wiping out their inventory.

You both know we live in Boise right? And that EVERYONE and their dog coupons here? When you have a limited supply and high demand..guess what? The stores will get wiped out quickly. Let’s just look at how many people check this blog on a regular basis..thousands maybe? And I would venture to say that the large majority of those people live in the treasure valley. I know it may be easy to blame someone for coming and wiping out every store in town..but that is just not the case. There are thousands of people hitting up all the Walgreens/Albertsons/Rite Aids/Targets to stock up on the free stuff every week. I know I get six papers, which means I have six copies of every coupon. So yes, I will buy six things of dishwashing detergent and not feel a twinge of guilt as I do so.

I have couponed in many different cities over the US in the past few years, and trust me when I say, Boise is one of the worst places to coupon simply due to the fact that you are competing with so many others to score the good deals. I am careful to pick my deals, as I know if you do not get there on the first day of the sale, then odds are you won’t get it. I have also realized if you hold onto your coupons for a few weeks, you will eventually get what you are after (in my latest case it is the Finish detergent where I am still holding onto my six coupons waiting for more to come in). I don’t bother with Target or Rite Aid since there are only two of each store and I know they don’t bother to stock up the way they should.

Part of couponing is good planning, learning to think quickly on your feet if something doesn’t work out the way you planned, and most importantly realizing if you miss this deal, a similiar one will be along shortly that you can get. No point to get all upset and blame anyone! I guess if you really wanted some cheap detergent you could have gotten up at 6am when the store opened on day one of the sale and stocked up then..I know some people do that..and they will always get what they go for!

        • I agree with you that you have to get up very early to get the great deals, as there are way too many coupon shoppers in Boise for the supply, however, don’t kid yourself that there aren’t shoppers clearing the shelves no matter how much product is put out. I was at Rite Aid early on Sunday this week and barely beat a pair of women to the Tylenol Precise in order to get a couple items before they filled their cart with all the remaining products. And I’m not talking about a small quantity, it filled half their cart and they proceeded to go around the store and clear out all the other best deals. Since they were making money (UPs) on every purchase I can see why they might want to do it, but couldn’t they leave some for others? That’s just greed in my opinon and will eventually result in problems for the rest of us who are happy to get a great deal to provide for our families and allow others to do the same. And you can try to order ahead of time, but some stores are having problems getting stock, maybe because of the hoarding. Just saying, they have a right to be upset by such selfish behavior.

          • Rebecca makes very good points. But there most certainly ARE shelf-clearers here in the Boise Valley. Last weekend was the worst I’ve ever seen it. I was at Rite Aid pretty early on Sunday and they were completely out of the Motrin PM, and I was told by a manager/cashier that two women were there first thing and cleaned them out. There were two women that I saw who had several carts — more than one cart each — piled high with cereal. The Special K that was on a bogo sale with a bogo mfg coupon making them 2 for free — they were sold out before noon. I can personally attest to the fact that a small number of customers bought a huge amount of cereal. And they did have a lot in stock to start with — more than Rite Aid usually has anyway.

Same thing happened with at Walgreens with the Finish Tabs. On that first Sunday they were on sale, I was at my local store shortly after they opened, and they were out already. I realize that they only have a limited amount of stock, but when I asked the cashier (my favorite Wags cashier — I love her!) she said that one woman came in and bought every single one.

I wish they’d limit purchases. Rite Aid’s SCR promos do a good job of preventing people from buying out the store, but the +up deals don’t.

Rain checks are a great thing. I’ve never placed a large special order because I rarely need a large quantity of anything, but they do seem like a lot less hassle than going store to store looking for inventory.

I started couponing in earnest about a year ago, and I used to get so frustrated when I’d plan a shopping trip only to find empty shelves. Now I don’t let it bother me so much.

        • Yes I am entitled to blame one person because it was one person. A crazy coupon obsessed buys too much stuff person. I went to the walmart associate and asked where the daily papers were. She informed me ONE woman showed up at walmart in the morning and bought every single paper they had in the store. I wasn’t just saying that. I know how rediculous couponers are here. I was just addressing that to the one lady that bought all the papers. Just because things are going to be under a dollar doesn’t mean we have to have it. I can just imagine how full of crap some of these ladies houses are.

      • Becky Ruths says:

I’ll admit… I have 26 boxes off dish washing detergent under my sink. HOWEVER, when I went to pick it up, 2 weeks ago, when the sale started, the store was out (of COURSE!) however, since I REALLY wanted it, and didn’t want to have to drive to several different stores or wipe shelves, I simply placed an order! 3 days later, exactly what I wanted showed up, reserved for me, specially ordered just for me!! It didn’t clear shelves, it didn’t mess with anyone else who wanted some.
The Fab 5 ALWAYS give us a heads up on the really good sales, and tell us where to buy the coupons and how to get a rain check… It’s not complicated :) In fact, I have my Favorite Albies programmed into my cell phone, and if I know it’s something I’m going to want a lot of I just call, ask to talk with a manager, and they place my order :) I don’t even have to waste the gas going in!

    • Chrissy – my manager told me the price on the finish should stay that way through the end of the month. BUT, if I were you I would still get a raincheck! They are supposed to call you when it comes in. You could even call before you go to make sure they have it. Like Becky said, I too have my stores # on my phone. I placed an order as soon as I knew I had my 20 coupons. They told me when it would be in, and held it for me, and I picked it up. It was quick, easy, and painless! • Just curious about what I missed out on … why all the demand for the Wednesday paper?

  12. I am irritated. None of my inserts are the same as the ones you have posted. I made a list of things I wanted to get with the coupons from the inserts, checked my inserts and I have 2 coupons I can use. bummer bummer. Mine are not as good as all of the ones that are listed either. I guess thats what little Wyoming towns will do to you. ugh

  15. summer kaurin says:

Hey I tried to use the B1G1 @ Albies McMillan with the $1/1 dbled and they said I couldn’t do that…I don’t see anything in the policy you all have printed regarding that issue is there a more detailed version of the policy regarding that?
Does anyone know if I can use both of those at Albies?
    thanks

  16. I started emailing our Rite AId managers to let them know what was coming so they could stock up better. I love our store!
