Most frugal thing that Ang has ever done…… When we bought our house was probably the most frugal thing I have done. We bought a modest home with land so that we could raise cattle, chickens, and have a big garden. I love to garden! It’s great when I am making dinner and I think ‘gosh I wish we had some fresh veggies’ walla you go out back and there it is. I love to make my own jam and can as much as I am able to out of our garden.
Ang’s fashion tip……… when the stores put the ‘seasonal’ clothes on clearance I buy them for my kids 1 size bigger for the next year. I got snow boots for $2 and snow gloves for 25c!
Ang’s favorite place to shop online…… eBay! I LOVE to buy coupons to match up with the weekly store sales. Second Craigslist! Be care when meeting people and going to their homes. I never go alone I always take my husband with me. My favorite buy was a freezer for a fraction of the price new.
Ang has always been frugal…… You always hear the saying “keeping up with the “Jones” I would rather have less than the “Jones” than have their bills. I hate it when bills come in and you watch how fast the money you worked so hard to make is gone in an instant. My goal is to be out of debt and enjoy life more fully without bills deciding what I do with my life.
Ang found couponing…….. I remember my mom couponing when we were growing up but, it’s changed so much over the last 25 years. My cousin, Sara and I were talking and trying to figure out a way to continue to be stay at home moms, but bring in the money a full time job would make. There was so much hype about couponing, so we thought maybe that would be something to try. My husband & I decided that we would try it for 2 months to see if it was something that was really a way to save money. Within 2 shopping trips we were hooked. It was amazing how much we saved! We jumped in feet first and haven’t looked back. My family is my biggest couponing fans. When we get together my brothers & sisters & I love to coupon shop! We get to spend time visiting and saving!
Every family size can coupon……… We are a “yours, mine, and ours” family, together we have 10 children! We have 8 still at home and never have a dull moment! Before couponing we were spending $900 or more a month on grocery items now after 1 ½ years of couponing for most all of our food and household items we are down to $200 to $250 a month! It has freed up so much money and yet we have so much more food that we ever have had. I love not stressing over our food budget anymore and having food storage! My husband loves to coupon with me and we are teaching our children to as well to help them as they move out.
Ang’s favorite thing to stock up on……. Pretty much everything! I love to have a variety of things from toothpaste to pickles. My kids would eat cereal for every meal if I would let them. Above anything I love to stock up on food. I get pretty excited when I get food for free or next to free! Free always taste better!
Do you think Ang would still be couponing if she had 1 million dollars……. Heck ya! I would never want to waste away money when I could “pay for it” with coupons. Like our 4 yr old daughter says “coupons are money!” Maybe we already have 1 million dollars worth of coupons!
This is how couponing changed Ang’s life…. There always seems to be some kind of emergency that you need money for car repairs or something happening that you didn’t plan on. I am no longer stressing if I should take money for bills to pay for food or food money to pay bills. I have been able to get an 8 month food storage all while spending less and paying down more debt. At the rate we are going we will have everything including our house paid off within 6 more years! I am thankful everyday for coupons I often wonder what took me so long to start using them.
