Slow cooker spare ribs

Easy Slow Cooker BBQ Spare Ribs Freezer Meal

This slow cooker BBQ spare ribs recipe is super easy and delicious. Best of all, a batch of this recipe takes less than 10-minutes to prepare! After that, you can just throw it into your slow cooker for 3-7 hours and dinner is ready.

The fact that this bbq spare ribs recipe is a freezer meal as well makes it even more convenient; you can prepare several batches at once and then have them in your freezer for those busy nights. Just remember to take the bag of spare ribs out of the freezer 24-hours in advance!

Slow Cooker BBQ Spare Rib Ingredients

One of the reasons why I love this BBQ spare rib recipe so much is that there are only a few ingredients needed for it! They’re all super common as well so you might even have them all on hand already.

The ingredients added to the BBQ sauce just take it up a notch and add more flavor dimension. These slow cooker BBQ ribs don’t taste like you just poured bottled BBQ sauce on them – they taste better!

Of course, you will want to make sure that you like the BBQ sauce you choose for the recipe because it is the base of the flavor. Want to make your own? Try this Sweet Baby Ray’s copycat recipe!

Serving Tips

You could probably get away with serving these BBQ spare ribs on their own, but adding some side dishes is always a great idea. These spare ribs go really well with funeral potatoes (they’re so good), mashed potatoes, or grilled rosemary garlic potatoes. (Do you notice a pattern? I love potatoes.)

You may also want to add some veggies on the side as well. I like to serve a simple plate of veggies with ranch dip, but if you want to get a bit fancier you could try these honey-glazed carrots, grilled zucchini, lemon herb potato salad, or simple roasted asparagus.

There are really a ton of different options though, so feel free to browse through our entire catalog of side dish recipes here.

  • I just found out the deal of the day (for my area anyway) 😀 I just found country style pork ribs for. 99,¢/lb and bought all they had. So now I have about 12 – 15 lbs of them. Was wondering, should I prep them for Crockpot and not cook first or season/sear partially cook then sauce and freeze? I’m planning on doing BBQ, teriyaki, taco and a “cubed version” for a stroganoff type recipe I have in my head.

So to cook or not cook first… That is my question?

You are such an inspiration, my mind is reeling with possibilities!

    Thanks much from TN 😀

  • hi! what can i do if i dont have a crock pot?
