ps – Here’s what we do with our chicken:

It all began on October 8th, 2008. Cathy and Monica started this coupon blog to help friends and family learn about their new money saving hobby couponing! Since then they have taught thousands of women (and men)

Ya! Much better deal than last time they were in the Valley!
I second that! Excited to buy…not to package. But, it is super cheap and GREAT quality.
So, I can’t find where the chicken is available in Idaho yet. Has it come out yet or is it about to come out?
They will be rolling out the events in the next few weeks… you should get an email from them when they come to your area.
so…is it whole chickens? Or is it all breast meat? If it is breast meat…I am totally getting it. I suck at math…so how much was that 40 pound bag? Less than $70 right????
Yes, it’s boneless skinless chicken breasts! Price will be $67.60 for a 40 pound box.
They are offering Ground beef in my area right now. How is the Ground Beef?
The beef is delicious! And it’s a great price for 93/7! MUCH easier to freeze too.
I was wondering if any of you have boughten the french fries. I did and I don’t have a fryer and didn’t think about that for some reason. Has anyone tried baking them?
I’m trying it right now! Doing 425 for 20 min.
OK, did it for 25 min at 425 degrees. Tastes great!
I did 400 for 30 minutes (originally thought 15, but they just kept not being done)… 425 for 20 is just about perfect. I bought one of these too, and it’s awesome! http://bit.ly/amazonfryer
Awesome! Thanks for this news. We ordered some last year and I just finished my stash. Great price for a great product!
I finally got around to checking the Zaycon website for the chicken. Am I to late? Did they already do it? Or sould I keep checking. I only see the chicken tenders. This will be my first time ordering
Hi Katie,
It depends on your area. If you registered and specified what area you’re in, then they’ll send you an email when they are bringing chicken to your area and let you know when ordering will begin. So no worries!
Thanks. I am in Mountain Home. I am registered, but have not been paying close attention. I will now!
help! i cant get any of the links to register to open, it keeps sayins IE cannot open.
I think their website is jammed up. I’ll check the links and just try again in a few.
this link is not working-
and does it just make it free from referral’s?
It is our referral link, but the link isn’t the problem… it’s because their site is getting more traffic than their servers can handle. Just keep trying!
The closest one is 141 miles away. Would it be worth going? Would my food spoil before getting home?
it’s good chicken but i certainly wouldn’t drive 2 hours each way for it. The cost of gas would eliminate any savings unless you bought like 400 lbs.
honestly, If you can find a bunch of friends (like 4 of you to fill a car) I think it would be worth the gas/time. It’s AMAZING chicken!
For some reason I can’t open the site to register…
neither can I. I guess something is wrong with the link?
I am having the same issue! I am hoping it comes back up it is an amazing deal!
Their site is getting more traffic than their servers can handle. Just keep trying!
Just keep hitting F5 to refresh your browser and it’ll eventually come up!
Dang it! No options for California.
Gloria, register now because they will probably be coming to CA soon!
I just placed my first order for the chicken. How often do they have “events” and let you order different items? Is this chicken only once a year?
Chicken seems to be 2-3 times a year… it just depends on the price they can get it at. They also do beef a few times a year, seafood, and so on. Although those aren’t necessarily in every area like the chicken is.
Thanks!
Nothing is opening. Their website must be down. Try to load it and it closes on me. I will try again later. I am hoping they are in the phoenix area — I NEED A FREEZER!
Try a different browser too… sometimes that helps!
I have had to reload the page a few times to get it to work.. just keep trying!
This is nice, but I will stay with my local butcher. Even though their prices are a bit higher I KNOW where the meat comes from and what they are fed and are not injected with hormones.
Rosa, here is what they say on their site: “100 % natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients. Comes directly from the processor and has never been frozen.” I’ve been eating Zaycon chicken for two years now and will never go back to the “not-so-fresh” variety!
I love that your little guy is out cold at the table through the whole thing lol. It’s rough to be a kid
Hi!! I was looking for an easy crockpot recipe to make the chicken and save it for later! I thought I saw one the other day, but now I cannot find it anywhere! Im not a pro at the crockpot yet, so I don’t know what ingredients to put in it to make it tasty but functional for any meal! Can you help?
Thanks so much!
KARA,
Here is my favorite and EASY crockpot chicken recipe: (I made it up myself)
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts (can use frozen or unfrozen)
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2-1 onion, finely diced (I prefer just 1/2)
3 celery stalks, diced
1 bag of frozen peas n carrots
Chicken broth (about 1.5 soups cans worth)…can use water instead if worried about the sodium
1 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, each cut into fourths. Can use more if they fit.
Salt, pepper, and spices to taste
Directions
Place the chicken, butter, soup, celery, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough broth to cover. Add salt, pepper, and spices as you like.
Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 1 hr before serving, shred the chicken into big chunks an add a bag of partially thawed peas and carrots. Place the cut biscuit dough in the slow cooker to cover the top. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center (about 1 hr).
Thanks Nin! I also just like tho throw about 12 breast in the crockpot and put some butter and salt and pepper in there… that keeps it pretty basic tasting and then you can use it for soups, casseroles etc….
How often do they do these events? I want to make sure to buy enough until the next round.
@Amber – they do it around 2 times per year… fall and spring!
How often do they do this? I’m wondering if i should order 40lbs or 80lbs? What do you order? Is 80 way to much work/space to freeze? Is the chicken organic? B/c i understand it comes straight from the farm, but the info about is the same thing that Purdue & Tyson put on the package of their chicken. so is it just better b/c it’s never been frozen?
They do it about twice per year. Here is an old video that we did to help you determine how much chicken to buy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsXvPeb6hLg&feature=player_embedded. This was before they went nation wide with their events, (so ignore the fact that we’re only talking about WA, OR, and ID).
And here are some answers to the questions about the chicken: http://www.zayconfoods.com/faq
How long can I keep the chicken in the frige after bagging it? I ordered a 40lb box so I would like to plan if I need to share it with family…since I’m not sure my family can eat that much chicken before it expires. Thanks! What a great deal…thanks for sharing!
Peggy
Instead of keeping it in your fridge, put it in your freezer after you bag it. It should be fine for a year! Ours never last that long though.
I got 80 pounds for my family of 9.
I’ve been ordering from Zaycon for several months and absolutely love their great quality foods.
So wish I would have seen this earlier! I was excited to see that they have events within an hour of my small town, and even more excited after I registered and realized that they actually had an event 20 minutes away, with a pick up of 10-4. But sadly, I missed the order date (9-26). Oh well, maybe next time, or maybe a different event. Thanks for the heads up, and I will definitely keep this in mind for the future.
