Thanks Discount Queens!

It all began on October 8th, 2008. Cathy and Monica started this coupon blog to help friends and family learn about their new money saving hobby couponing! Since then they have taught thousands of women (and men)

Do all the bloggers share posts? This looks almost exactly like Amber’s post on the Discount Queens
Oh, it is taken from her post, I was just in a hurry and totally forgot to give her a link back credit. I put a link on there. Sorry to confuse you but thanks for reminding me!
where do you get the Sizzlin’ Summer Game Guide Coupon Book?
in store, yellow display
Look like this: http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/2012/05/albertsons-sizzlin-summer-coupon-booklet-and-recipes.html
Coupon does not work on the “Alberstons” olives.
Another good deal for the coupon is on EE tuna fish. It is $1.19 and with the coupon it is 19 cents. Make sure that the dollar does come off. When the item is a dollar the coupon doesn’t like to scan. My cashier had to type it in but with the tuna it scans. She didn’t mind typing it in but just a heads up so you make sure you get the deal you planned on getting.
Is this just one coupon that works on all these products? Will the store allow us to grab enough booklets to buy all of these items in one transaction? I hope that makes sense.
NO, one coupon allowed per trip says the coupon.
The coupons in my book say one per transaction, and we have a store manager that is kind enough to combine them all into one transaction. She said that when they are store coupons they can do that. She also told us to take as many books as we want as long as we are not taking them all. Not very many people in our area use coupons and she knows that we are always willing to share with others and that we have helped a lot of people in our area. My house has become a kind of food bank for the people at my church and people I know through family and friends! I think what these ladies are doing is an awesome service and it really saves me a lot of time. Sure wish we could get the doublers back here though cause I would sure be able to do a lot more!!
Thanks ladies and keep it up
My Albertsons has been out of these coupon booklets for 2 weeks!
So there wasn’t even a chance of getting anything….. maybe I’ll have better luck next time.
Thanks for the info!
I just got back from Albertson’s in downtown Eagle, they wouldn’t let me use the coupon on the Ketchup, they said it was .99 so the coupon wouldn’t work. The Cashier wasn’t willing to adjust the coupon either.
The ketchup is 10/$10 which equals a dollar. I just bought some today and I had no problems. Always ask for a manager to clarify or take it to customer service to verify, there is usually a manager close by.
Use can only use one coupon per trip per the coupon so to all the hoarders taking all the books, have fun making separate trips!
It’s people like you mentioned that resulted in doublers being taken out of stores. Drives me crazy and I’m sure there are hoarders that read this blog- shame on you. And if they’re hoarding for a “good reason” like “charity,” they are still stealing from the rest of us that just need ONE!
I’m honestly a little confused and am looking for clarification, not flaming…
I wondered the same thing — there’s one coupon, several choices. All they would have to do is keep to the one free product per visit. It was their idea.
Isn’t hoarding when you buy a bunch of one product, not one of several needs? I’m sorry if I’m wrong there.
If I’d been CEO, I think I would change the ad. I’d say, “$1 off any Everyday Essentials product per visit.” In fact doesn’t Albertson’s have a card? If so, that could be what keeps it down to only 1 each day; that’s how KMart does it. I like that That way you don’t waste paper & ink, and everybody gets a chance at the same deal.
I am from cleveland, OH. Is there a Alberstons Branch store located near me? There are no Albertons, however I did not know if they had any branch stores. The free pasta would be wonderful for food banks!
Yes, this is an awesome deal that was mentioned a few weeks ago! BUT unfortunately the cashiers here in Twin Falls were instructed to put the booklet behind the cash register as people were coming in & taking 20+ at a time probably for that very coupon mentioned. This was a week or so ago (I don’t know that they have any left now) but my cashier was very kind to give me three booklets which was more than fair. Being considerate and moderate effects the way stores and fellow customers view us crazy couponers
and I, for one, would like to keep it positive.
Yea, good luck finding any of the booklets. The few stores that I shop at have been out for some time because of people grabbing handfuls. I got excited to find some last night, but then realized that the EE coupons were missing from the booklets. I asked if they had more behind the counters … no they didn’t.
One bad apple …!
I found the booklets back when they first came out, when the Lindsay olives were free with the coupon. I bought 6 cans of olives and my store had no trouble with me using 6 coupons for them all in one transaction.
My store had a person posted on the opening day of the coupon book handing them out and I got my 1, last weekend there was a boy posted at the door handing them out and I didn’t ask for another one but I recycled them out of carts in the cart return
I figure this is how it will be for awhile, they may do away with in store coupon books like they did with the TTV sheets.
Careful on Albertson’s brand vs. Everyday Essentials brand (on the olives, etc.) My cashier had to force that one through.
same here on the mac and cheese last week. The shelf tag says everyday essentials, but the box said albertsons. guy tried to tell me they must have been out. He was wrong, because I have seen this on other items. If they are phasing in the EE brand until they are out of the albie’s brand, it shouldn’t matter, but the coupon won’t scan. Hope the cashier just pushes it through if you explain. some get it and some dont.
EE red beans are $1.19, so $0.19 after using the EE q
Hey all…
So I went to Albertsons to see if I could score a few freebies. This store actually had the coupon books and I was very happy for about 30 seconds.
Someone had ripped the Essentials coupon out and left the coupon book.
Next book, same thing…and again and again and again. There were probabaly 50 coupon books, all missing that coupon. GRRRR
So no-score again…. if you’re gonna take the coupon…take the whole book please….
So you complain about the entire books and telling people to only take what they need? Then you complain when they take only the coupon they need and leave other coupons for someone else? Maybe we should just give you all the coupons?
Don’t wait for this to be posted on a national website…find out deals on your one. Once something is posted here you might as well forget about getting the deal….if you haven’t noticed. There was plenty of opportunity to get these books before the “freebie” deal was posted.
Get use to it we live in a “selfish” society. And yes that applies to all those giving to charity…you are getting personal gain from it!
I have no trouble getting deals after they’re posted on several different websites. I’ve also been able to use the EE coupon on a few different Albertsons items. Every week I follow 3 blogs and have no trouble stocking up on the great deals they post. I did get my Sizzlin Summer booklets (5 of them in total) from 2 different stores the first week they came out though, but there are still plenty in the Mill Creek/Bothell area.
I do agree that people should leave the books if they are just taking out one coupon because not everyone wants to buy just EE items…BUT maybe they should leave it with the cashier so they could make a separate pile and let people know it’s not a complete book because it would be annoying to stand there searching through 50 different books to make sure the coupon you want is in there.
