It is amazing how many good deals we have at Albertsons this week. I was able to make a late night trip to Albertsons last night and I found a few more fab deals that we have not already mentioned!

Where did I get all of my doubles?
I got 5 sets from my Idaho Statesman Papers and 5 sets from my Idaho Press Tribune Papers and 1 set from my neighbor.
How did I do so many transactions?
I waited until late at night when no one else was shopping and checked out. If there had been other shoppers there I would have done 3 transactions at a time and then returned to the line to do it again and again.

How many double the coupon transactions does your Albertsons allow? Mine only allows 3 separate transactions using 3 doublers per day. Can I go to a different branch and shop again using more doublers? THanks in advance for your response.
I would say that you could! doublers aren’t tracked. That’s a bummer your store only allows 3 per day. I shopt like monica does. Other then instead of going late at night i go first thing in the morning when the store opens so most the time i’m the only one in the store and can do as many transactions as I like. But when there are other people it’s a 3 transactions, end of line 3 more ect.
My Albertson’s only allows 3 transactions per visit per day as well. I tried to show the early A.M. cashier their coupon policy & that it doesn’t state there is a per visit or per day limit just a three transactions in a row limit & she didn’t want to hear it. Bummer. It would save me so much time to do all my transactions at one albertson’s. Now I drive to three seperate stores.

I had some problems with my Albertsons store and posted the question on their facebook page and actually got an email from an executive that contacted the manager who then called me. It would be worth a try if you have a facebook account since Albertsons is in the business of selling items it doesn’t make much sense to limit you to three transactions per day! Good Luck!
Heidi, I live in Tigard and I can tell you that I have had the same experience with one of the Albertson’s I shop at. I no longer use that Albertson’s as my “go to” store. I use one just a little farther from my house that is beyond coupon friendly! One of those other two Alberstons you drive to may be the same way. From what I’ve read on many blogs it is a common problem In the Portland metro area with Albertsons. Hope you find one that works for you!
Wow! That is a bummer. I did 10 transactions Sunday afternoon in the self check-out. As long as there is not a long line it does not matter. Even if I go t a cashier they will do as many as possible at once as long as no one is in line. No big deal if there is. I just go around and get back in line. However, most of the time I am there so early in the morning that it is never busy. I would sugget discussing this politely with the manager.
Tes, the 3 diff Albies that I shop at in Idaho Falls, allow the 3 sep. trans in order. Then you get out of line and do it again. If they are slow, they just keep going thru them. I would just go get your next group of stuff and pick another checker.
On their Buy 10 save $5 deals this week is Smart Balance milk. If you buy 10 participating items they are $1.99 and use the $1.50/1 Smart Balance milk and get em for $.50 each!!!

How much time did it take you to figure out how to divide your transactions??? I’ve never had the guts to do this, but maybe I should bite the bullet. :>)
It takes me anywhere from 30 min to an hour depending on how many transactions I need and if I am just going to copy the fabgals or need to make up my own. Once you do it once or twice it gets pretty easy.
TJ- I do it while I shop, but I have been doing this for a long time so it usually comes pretty natural. When I started out I used to map everything out completely and write it all down before I went to the store. Like Meghan it probably took me 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how many transactions. Now I decide on my potential deals, collect up the coupons and head to the store. Then I make transaction decisions based on what is available on the shelf. I never shop Sunday morning so many time I just have to take what I can get and be flexible with my list .
If you have not tried couponing at Albertsons with doubles yet you should just start with 3 transactions and see how that goes. No sense in overwhelming yourself from the get go. Good luck!
Nicely done! I do have a question – how do you store marshmallows so they don’t go bad?
marshmallows can sit on the shelf for quite awhile if you haven’t opened them. If you do open them just put them in a ziploc or air tight container. If you are keeping them for a super long time you can also through them in the freezer. This does change their consistency slightly (they aren’t all fluffy and soft) but they are awesome in hot chocolate!

Danielle- We are going to miss her too! There is no replacing her humor, personality and talent. We wish she could have stayed with us longer. Her heart just was not in it anymore and gardening is where her heart truly is. No one can do it all forever.
She will sorely be missed by many.

Yes, you can! Albertsons accepts all do not double coupons now.

So your Press Tribune still gives you 6 papers? Awhile back we got a letter from them saying that they no longer are continuing the 6 paper deal and are changing it to 5 papers. I have been getting papers in the coupon deal from them for well over 3 years and was wondering if anyone else is just getting 5 or if I should complain about it? It seems like a bum deal to me if they are stiffing just a few of us on that extra paper.
Good point Mandy. I think you are right. I do not get special privileges from the Press Tribune. I get my 11th set from my sweet neighbor lady.
Just so used to saying 6 on that one, and my neighbor does not come by every week.

I used to not get a single sale ad in my papers and they would tell me that my area (Kuna) didn’t get any sale ads but my friends would get ads and not me. They said that the stores specifically didn’t want them in our papers. It was the younger lady you get when you call and I think she was telling me that because she didn’t know how to deal with it. Since then I am leery of what I am told by them.

I am new to this, but i am confused at how transaction #4 was only 1.18? I calculated it to be 3.18. Where am I going wrong? Doesn’t the Marshmallow coupon that is .40/2 double to .80/2?

I think there is a typo in there. I’m pretty sure the marshmallows are only $1 per bag. So the total before coupons would be $4.98 I do know that she wrote this up at 2 in the morning, so if there are typos or boo boos, that would explain it! Ha ha!
Haha it was actually like 3 am. hahaha. But I had them for $1 and someone told me I was wrong so I changed it. Silly me. Just checked my receipts. They were $1. Hurry you still have time to get to the store before midnight.

They are the 1/2 lb size.

Catalinas are actually manufacturer coupons (look along the top of the cat). So you can double them!
Thanks for sharing your shopping trip. I agree, this was a fun shopping week at Albertsons. When we found out you could double the catalinas, we bought more newspapers. We ended up with 21 papers and I used every one of the TTV coupons. I could have used a few more. lol
The Albertsons on Federal Way in Boise is so hard to deal with. I was going to do 2 transactions last night to finish my last 6 doublers. First transaction I doubled actual manufacturers coupons and it went through just fine. 2nd transaction was to buy 2 Tyson pot roasts using 2 catalinas and 2 doublers. The cashier refused to double the mfr coupon catalina. I told her that I had done that 3 times earlier in the day, at the Broadway Albies and at Park Center. (I also know Glenwood/State does that too). She called a superviser or manager and she, too, told me no. I told her that I had NO PROBLEMS whatsoever at 2 other Albertsons in this same day. Still they refused. I declined the entire 2nd transaction. (and it included numerous items) Told them I would just do that very same transaction down at Park Center (which I immediately did). The folks at Park Center could not have been nicer. Clerks asking if they could help me find things, the cashier friendly and helpful and took the catalinas without batting an eye, and an offer to assist me with the bags to my car. I NEVER get that at Federal Way. I’m done shopping there, ever. Just my Albies report (rant). I never do more than 2 transactions at a time with doubles and am courteous to checkers and customers. Not a hoarder. I’m a long standing patron of Alberstons (over 25 years faithfully). Grrrr
Bummer Susan! Maybe you should let Albertsons know through facebook or something so they can help the Federal Way store get that fixed. No fun.
Thanks Monica. I had to call their preferred card services for another deal and they asked my store preference…which ended up me explaining why I won’t shop Federal Way. They took my complaint and said their store director would call me. I’m hoping he cares. But not banking on it as that entire store seems to have the same problem. It’s not limited to one cashier. It’s the majority. I will just shop elsewhere. May even use my doublers at Wal Mart.

Albertson’s has emailed a coupon out to it’s subscribers for $1/1lb or more of asparagus… store coupon so it can only be used at Albie’s… LOVE produce coupons!
