Yay for Target’s Price Matching Policy! It’s FAB!!
Transaction 1
I purchased these last week, not knowing Q-Tips were going to be on sale (I was out, and desperate)!
Buy 4 Q-tips 375 count $2.99
Use (4) $0.60/1 Q-tips, 300 ct+ (30 points) (remember, you can print Recycle Bank coupons 2 times, so you only need to buy 2)
Pay $10.36 OOP
Because of the Target Price Match Policy, I was able to take my receipt in when I went shopping yesterday, and they “price matched” to this weeks price and gift card deal. I didn’t even have to take the Q-Tips in! They will price match with a sale (you must have your receipt) for 14 days after the original purchase!
So the purchase I made last week (above), turned into this:
Buy 4 Q-tips 375 count $2.69
Use (4) $0.60/1 Q-tips, 300 ct+ (30 points) (remember, you can print Recycle Bank coupons 2 times, so you only need to buy 2)
Pay $8.36 OOP
Receive $5 Target Gift Card (since they were already giving me a gift card, I got the $2 difference in what I paid on the gift card)
Final Price: $3.36 or $.84 each
But what is really fab is it was as if they handed me $7 just for keeping my receipt! I took it up to the customer service desk, and it was handled in a matter of minutes!
Transaction 2
Buy 2 UP2U Gum $1.29 each
Buy 1 Market Pantry Juice, on clearance for $1.60
Total: $4.18
Use 2 $.55/1 UP2U Gum, TARGET COUPON (it’s VERY important to hand these over first!)
Use 1 $0.50/1 Market Pantry Juice TARGET COUPON
Use 2 $1/1 UP2U Pack 02/05 SS (hand these over LAST) My target didn’t beep using the $1.55 worth of coupons for gum that cost $1.29, but I was prepared to not receive the overage. I believe the only reason I did was because I had extra product to absorb the overage).
Pay $.58 OOP (I used my Target Gift card)
Final Price: FREE!
Total OOP this week: $.58 ($8.94 if you count the Q-Tips)
Received $7 Target Gift Card ($5 if you don’t count the refund on the Q-Tips)
Final Price: $6.42 MM! ($4.94 if you count the Q-Tips)

I had problems. I “bought” two coupons but it would only let me print off of one. Going to try from a different computer but thinking you are better off just buying one printing that and then seeing if you can buy another one.
Recycle Bank is GREAT at handling issues… You may want to check that they didn’t print both on the same page, (you probably already did that, but I was stumped the first time I printed, and then I went and checked my printer). If that doesn’t work, you can email (http://www.recyclebank.com/helpdeskultimate/customer/) them! The are SUPER fast at getting back to you!
I had the same problem!! I bought 2 in separate “transactions” but could only print each one once. Guess I’ll be sending them an e-mail!!
So I’m confused. You were out so you just happened to buy 4 which was the exact amount needed for this weeks gift card deal? Sounds weird to me….did u preview the ad? This might explain why I can’t find deals on Sunday mornings when the sale starts, especially when I’m the first one in the store. Didn’t realize this was part of extreme couponing done right.
I agree with Rosanne. I feel like there is something going on here that doesn’t meet the eye…. This is beginning to make sense why on Sunday mornings there are often times multiple items already being taken from the shelves. At first I thought the stores were pulling stock. Now, I am not so sure. I think this post just tells couponers how to once again cheat the system. While I realize that this is Target’s “policy” right now, if many people begin to figure out this trick, they will be like every other store and change that policy and make it even more difficult for the rest of us.
You guys are so funny! I don’t get the ad until it posts on the Target Website at 2 am (MST) Sunday morning! Since the Target post is scheduled to go up on Sundays at 8 am, and it usually take between 2-4 hours to get it compiled for you guys, I’m often up all night (happily!). It didn’t go up until 10 this week because I’ve been sick and couldn’t stay up that late, so I got up early to do it.
I bought 4 packs of Q-Tips because I had enough points with RecycleBank to buy 2 coupons, and they let you print them twice. I hate running out of Q-Tips, because my honey and I both use them every day, plus what we use for deep cleaning! We were completely out, and had been for almost a week.
The $2.99 price is the same as what Walmart charges, and I was at Target, not Walmart
, and the $.60/1 coupon is twice the value of normal Q-Tips coupons, which are $.30 cents. So, I figured I was getting 2x at much off as I normally would! If I had been at Walmart, I would have purchased them there!
I PROMISE, it’s not a conspiracy! If they hadn’t gone on sale this week, I still would have considered them a good deal (not great, but still good!), and marked them off my list as something I didn’t need to worry about buying for a few months.
Also, if you notice in the ad match-up, a reader (and a couple of blogs) alerted me to the fact that the 375 count were on sale. They weren’t even listed in the ad as being part of the sale… so if I was part of a big conspiracy, I probably would have purchased the ones listed in the ad
I’m sorry if you ladies think I cheated the system, got an early copy of the ad, or whatever… but it was TRULY a happy accident, and something that I wanted to make our readers aware of!
The fact that Target will match their ad for up to 14 days after an item was originally purchased is just one more thing that makes me LOVE Target more and more!
You are awesome for doing these match ups! thanks so much! I live in Orem, UT and that Target is currently going through a remodel so there are TONS of Clearance EVERYWHERE it was pretty exciting. Pretty much down every isle and in every department. I don’t know if you guys have anyone close to that store that could find some good deals on clearance stuff?
