I’m all for saving money and being “green”, but reusing plastic containers for food can be unsafe. Plastics can be especially unsafe when heated, which is why it’s a good idea to avoid microwaving foods in plastic containers. There is lots of data available on the internet about the dangers of plastics that you can find with a quick google search. Some plastics are safer than others tho, so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the symbols on containers so that you can avoid the really harmful ones, such as those with PVC, polyetheline terepthalatre, or polystyrene.
It’s good to conserve by repurposing plastic containers to store household items like crayons or paper clips, just not food or other things that go into your body, including personal care items that may come in contact with open skin.
