1 cube butter (softened)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. milk
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
Mix all ingredients together and pour batter into 9×13 pan.
Bake @ 400° for 25 min in a lightly greased pan.
Variation: Melt butter right in pan. Mix remaning ingredients in another bowl and poor over the butter. Makes a delightful crunchy bottom.

Is this a really sweet cornbread? I’m not a huge fan of sweet cornbread..can you cut down the sugar?
I do not think it is really sweet. I still drizzle it with honey.
You could certainly cut down to 1 cup of sugar if you are worried though.
