Participating Kmart locations will be doubling manufacturer’s coupons up to $1 valid 1/4/12 and 1/7/12 only with purchase of $25 or more in grocery and drugstore merchandise. UPDATE: Doubling has been extended and is going through out the month of April. There will be a limit of 5 coupons per customer per day and you will need to have a valid Shop Your Way Rewards Card at the time of purchases.
A few details…
- Kmart will double manufacturer’s coupons with a face value of $1 or less
- Limit 5 per customer per day
- Amount of credit from doubling a coupon can not exceed the price of the item
- No cash back
- Only one coupon doubled per item
- Limit 4 of the same item using double coupons
- Excludes Buy One Get One Offers, Kmart Savings coupons, and Kmart store coupons

Seriously? What a royal pain. K-Mart is making a huge mistake with being so coupon “unfriendly”. They have had amazing advertising for FREE with 2 couponers doing all of their shopping at K-Mart on the show Extreme Couponing. Yet, here they are saying you have to have a minimum purchase of $25 and you can only double 5 coupons per day and only up to $1 value (which is the only part I’m fine with).
If K-Mart want some input from customers, here you go. The store in Nampa, Idaho smells bad. They have one aisle of food products which isn’t enough to bother. Everything is crammed together, and the shelves are stocked haphazardly which makes it hard to tell what price belongs to which item. You want couponers to come in for food and drugstore items, match it up with a great sale and offers, clean up your shelves and have items in stock. And for crying out loud, do away with the 25$ minimum purchase. 5 coupons doubled per day is fine but I can get anything I want or need some place else for less with those types of restrictions. I wouldn’t spend the money on gas to drive 5 miles to check it out.
The store in Boise is old, I am not wasting my time for five
doublers with a twenty-five dollar purchase.
I don’t shop at Iowa City KMart any longer because of the same type of issues, I think they need a better training program for staff. Some of the clerks are very friendly and accomodating, but you never know who you are going to get.
I am totally there with this.. $25 minimum purchase BEFORE they double.. puuuleeeaaassee.. Will NOT be making time for this trip… I Get they are trying to generate business but this is not it.. I did the bulk of my christmas shopping there this year because of the doubler habits… it got me in their store and I got comfortable shopping there and they change it up.. no thanks!
however Walmart will match the doubling,,,so if you are going to walmart anyways to buy something might as well take your 5 coupons and get them while you are there. But I agree I would not go out of my way for this.
Have any of you Gals checked with any Walmarts (I like Overland!) to see if they will honor this like they did a couple of weeks ago? They did the $2 doubles and with no limit and no min. purchase. have you called to see if they will do that again?

My question is the same…did Walmart honor this? (Want to know for next time.) Ughhh I used a bunch of coupons at Walmart today!
I went to the Caldwell WalMart tonight to match KMart’s deal and ran into a huge hassle. WalMart interprets the $25 to be AFTER coupons, I interpreted it to mean BEFORE. Can anyone clarify this??

I went to my Walmart on Overland. It was a little frustrating. Seems like one of those where nobody is on the same page. At CS I was told they were matching the whole promotion ($25, 5 coupons etc) I needed printer ink, so I knew the $25 would be a non-issue…Got my other 5 items. Coupons were $1, $1, $1 and (2) for $0.75. At check out I went tothe same CS guy. When it came to my coupons, he didn’t understand that he needed to adjust the item cost THEN run the coupon. He called over another checker and SHE said they had to be UNDER $1. I showed politely her the Kmart ad, but she insisted that they could not do more than $0.99. I thought, oh, at least I can still doulbe my $0.75 ones. However, he never asked her how to do it and just said he didn’t know why they were not automatically doubling. I politely explained again that other checkers adjust the price down THEN run the coupon. He just stared at me, puzzled. (I have a few checkers I like to go to, but I was ushered to him…) I thought about going to CS again, but didn’t want to bother with the line to get my $1.50 refund. Oh well…maybe next time!
