I posted this idea last year and thought it was a great time to revisit it for all you scrambling for a great last minute gift idea!
I have crafty friends. I surround myself with crafty friends because there is no way on earth I could come up with something so adorable all on my own. One of said friends came up with this fabulous idea to give to all of her neighbors. It has all of the necessary elements required when choosing the perfect neighbor gift:
1. Easy.
2. Cheap.
3. Cute (I know. I know. My husband thinks I’m lame for wanting so much cuteness in my life but I digress).
4. Easy (Oh perhaps I mentioned that already?).
All you need for the box itself is a crafty friend (or I suppose if you are crafty yourself you won’t need someone to hold your hand through the process), some colorful boxes, some bows & some scraps of scrapbooking paper. Use a Hobby Lobby coupon or a Michael’s coupon to save up to 50% off supplies!
Type up the saying & print it off. Glue it onto some fun paper & then onto the box. Tie a bow on the box, then fill the box with your favorite caramel or cheese popcorn. Here is what she used:
White Chocolate Popcorn:
1/2 cup uncooked popcorn kernels (or 1 bag microwave popcorn)
1 tbl cooking oil
1lb bag colored vanilla melting wafers
1. Pop popcorn.
2. Melt 1lb bag of melting wafers per package instructions.
3. Pour over popcorn and spread on wax paper to cool (remember to take out all the kernels before you pour over popcorn!).
Here is the recipe I’m using: Easiest Carmel Corn Ever!
See. Cute, easy & cheap. The perfect Christmas gift!

It all began on October 8th, 2008. Cathy and Monica started this coupon blog to help friends and family learn about their new money saving hobby couponing! Since then they have taught thousands of women (and men)

Cute! What font is that??
Thanks!
Not sure. I’ll ask & let you know!
I just used that font. It’s Ravie…. http://www.azfonts.net/load_font/ravie.html
Very cute! I had heard before of using the Chinese food-type boxes for gifts (which is an idea I love!), but this is the first I’ve seen about coming up with a clever note for the outside. That really kicks it up a notch and makes it more unique!
Looks very similar to Ravie – Fun font!
oops! I just now saw someone else answered that already!
lol
I remember this from last year! The packaging is super cute, and I personally *love* getting foodie/treat gifts. Not only do I get to enjoy eating the gift, but I don’t have to find a permanent place for it like with a housewares/decoration/etc. kind of gift. Such a great idea!
What a fun idea. I used some take out boxes for MOPPETS gifts for our helpers. I bought mine at Dollar Tree and Walmart
My family and I moved to this neighborhood a short time ago…and this is a great way to meet everyone! Thanks for the awesome idea! I think I’ll do carmel corn, i have a fabulous recipe for it and I’ll get my girls to make it, since they’re on break now they need something to do! thanks again!!
