  1. shauna hawk says:

I did this the last time the promo cam out and what a great deal i thought it was. U esentially get a refrigerator for free or the food for free. There were a lot of items tht i was able to put to good use and they were all available at the store. also just for a heads up you can look at the coupons before you purchase the refrigerator so you can see if they are coupons you would put to good use. I again found it to be a perfect deal for me……

    • It looks great to me.  What I saw of the coupon book, they are all “free” product coupons, with no purchase requirements.  I just have no use (or room) for the fridge).

    • boise is all out of fridges.  the lady said that no stores have them here and that twin probably does.  But did say that in a couple of weeks they will be getting mini freezers in.

  2. Hi quick question, on the deal where you have to buy 30.00 worth of products to get $10.00 catalina back on your next purchase, is that before the coupons or after the coupons, I am still new at all of this. Thanks for your help!! Lisa

    • I was thinking the same thing but my hutch is BEFORE coupons since coupons are a form of payment.  HTH

    • I always do these with coupons and it is before coupons. So big savings. :-)

    • You have to be carefull and read the fine print because, although the $30 total is USUALLY calculated BEFORE coupons, it will sometimes SPECIFICALLY STATE that the total is calculated AFTER coupons.  Just read the fine print, and you should be good!!  :-)   UPDATE:  I just looked in the ad in the Idaho Statesman (Boise area)  and it says AFTER MANUFACTURER COUPONS ARE REDEEMED.  In my past experience, however, it sometimes still works with the pre-coupon total.  I guess someone will just have to be brave and be the guinea pig!  :-)

    • The ad (at least where I am) specifically states that the $30 minimum is calculated after manufacturers coupons are redeemed.

    • Today at the Caldwell Albertsons store they have signs posted that the $30 is after coupons including doublers.  Apparently a new policy, but I don’t know if other Albertsons are following.

  3. On the Clorox bleach, there is also a $.25/1 printable coupon available at coupons dot com.  If anyone needs a zip, try 83709.

    • Susan-

Thanks for the tip Susan. I went to find the coupon so I could add it to the post but, I could not find the bleach coupon on coupons.com. Are you sure that is where you found it? Thanks!

      • Monica, yes, that’s where I saw it.  It’s still showing up there for me (as already printed).  Go to coupons dot com in a fresh window and try 83714.

      • You can also get the very same clorox coupon from Clorox.com! I printed it during round up! :)

  4. The Crackerful’s coupon appears to be dead.

  5. Ok, is there a scenario where I would be able to get cereal at better than $1.39/box even with doublers, because that is the best that I can figure.  Here is my math:

    Buy 10 boxes cereal…  $2.49 X 10= $24.90

    Double three $1 coupons =          -$6.00

    Minus the $5 instant savings=     -$5.00

    Equals $13.90 or $1.39/box

Is there a better scenario that I am missing?  Thanks for the help!  :-)

    • This is what I came up with:

      (2) frosting, (2) cake mix, (4)grand bis, (2) cereal = 16.22 ( I always include tax when I figure my total)

      -$5.00 instant

      use: (2) .30/2- grands, (2) .75/2 betty cake and frosting, (1) 1/1 cereal

      Double= $2.50

making your total after tax (8.6 where I am) $5.62

that would be $.56 each item

the other one I came up with ( with more cereal)

      is (6) cereal, (4) totinos= $22.74 (tax included)

      use (3) 1/1 cereal, (2) .40/2

      double=$3.00

      totaling $10.94 ( $1.09 each item )

    • Angelic, if you have five of the $1/2 cereal coupons, you can use all 5 but just double 3 of them:
      Buy 10 for $24.90
      Use 5 $1/2 coupons = -$5
      Use 3 doublers = -$3
      Minus instant savings = -$5
      Equals $11.90 or $1.19/ea

Or if you have four of the $.75/1 coupons and three of the $1/2 coupons, this scenario is slightly better:
      Buy 10 for $24.90
      Use 3 $1/2 coupons = -$3
      Use 3 doublers = -$3
      Use 4 $.75/1 coupons = -$3
      minus instant savings = -$5
      Equals $10.90 or $1.09/ea

      Hope this helps.

    • If you double three cereal coupons (say 3 x $1/2) that still leaves you 4 more boxes of cereal to use coupons on, they just wouldn’t be doubled. That would get your total down from the 13.90 you estimated, or you would by other products that would qualify you for the ten other than cereal. :)

  6. My ad in ( Kitsap) Washington does not show the $30 save $10 promo. Is this a Albertson wide promo or a regional?

  7. lol I figured out my $30/$10 promo without doublers:

    3 – Huggies Diapers, Pull-up, Goodnites Jumbo pack $9.99/$6.69

    29.97 – 3 $2 pullups printable

23.97 o.o.p then get the $10 cat back = 13.97 for 3 packs of pullups!

  8. Beverly Porter says:

Are we getting doubles on Sunday? :-)

  9. Emily Millanes says:

How do you get the double coupons?

    • one time they released them on facebook.

however, they usually are in the sunday papers. just check before you buy them to make sure they are in there. i’ve learned my lesson the hard way.

      • Emily-

If you order the paper you can have 5 delivered to your door so you get priority for double coupons. If they run out of coupons the stores will not get them in the paper. Here are our newspaper discount deals. Check to see if we have one in your area: http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/newspaper-deals

        • I got subscibed to Idaho statesman for $3.38/wk and that’s every day paper( that was their deal) and sunday 6 papers. Sunday paper only .55cents cant beat that deal!!!!

          • The Statesman deal only works for Canyon and Ada county.  I live in Boise county and for the same “deal” they wanted to charge me almost $90 for three months.  I was so mad.  Oh well if I can’t get doublers I can’t.  I will just have to deal with it.

  10. Are the BC flavored mashed potatoes that are part of the GM promo the boxes or the pouches?  There are lots of coupons for the boxes, but not the pouches, that I know of.

  11. kelli welborn says:

Will any of you ladies put together the scenerio you are going to be using when purchasing the items?  I am new to coupons and my brain is not that good yet.   I always seem to be never behind the Albertson’s eight ball.   When I finally get it figured out, the sales are all gone.  Thank you in advance to anyone who will help me.

  12. Helen in Meridian says:

Too bad the deal is not for a small freezer like the ladies asked about at the workshop.  We all can find small refrigerators for about $88 or less at Target and stores when they clear out the college dorm items, but what we want is a freezer with food coupons.

    • I would totally buy another freezer. My dh might freak about the loss of space in the garage but it would be worth it. :)

  13. Okay, I have a really weird question.I do the Huggies rewards points, and I recently redeemed them for 3 coupons for free jumbo packs of diapers. Can I use those on the promo? Like buy 3 diapers and something else cheap, get all three free and still get the $10 cat?

    • That should work! How exciting!

      • Yay! That will  be exciting! I’ve been waiting to use the coupons when I really need diapers and there’s not a sale, but if I can get money back for shopping, I’ll go for it now instead! Thanks!

  14. I did the fridge deal back in August. To me it was totally worth it. We were looking at mini fridges to put in our garage just to keep drinks in. Almost all of the coupons are for free product except for 4 or 5 I think And those were either high value mfc’s or store cpn’s. I have been able to combine some of the coupons with current deals/promos to lower my oop expense even more. All of the coupons do expire October 31 unless they have put out new ones with longer expiration dates.

  15. I will just cry if eastern MT doesn’t get doubles again! Crossing my fingers! Thanks for the match ups!

  16. ok, so I am soooooo new to couponing. :) I have a question that might be totally obvious, but I have to ask anyway.  With all of the albertsons deals you just posted…am I supposed to wait until sunday to see if I receive any doublers? Thats like 5 days to wait!  ha ha How long to these types of deals and promos usually last?  I am still a little nervous about it all! :) Thank you so much ladies.

    • Albertsons ads renew every Tuesday.  Doubles are good Sunday through Tuesday.  These will be the deals that the doubles are good on.

    • Ashleigh, usually Albertsons doublers come in the Sunday ad, usually every other week.  The fab gals here give us a heads-up when they know doublers are coming so that we can plan accordingly.

If you don’t haved a home subscription to your local paper, it’s a good idea to do so.  Last time doublers came out, many of us who bought papers from stores or newsstands did not get them.

A few weeks back Albertsons released some printable doublers on facebook, and I sure hope they do that again.

      • I did sign up to receive only the sunday paper here in Phoenix. You guys didn’t have a paper deal for arizona! :( maybe there isn’t enough interest? Anyway, I just signed up to receive one every week, since I decided to start out slow with this whole couponing thing. :) I hope I get some doublers this week! Thanks gals.

  17. Can we price to Wal-mart?

    • You can price match any store’s ad at Walmart however, Check your store’s policy for doing so before you go.  The one by me and I think most of them will only allow a price match if the ad states a specific price like buy 2 at 1.49 get one free.  If there is no price and the ad says by 2 get 1 free you will not be able to price match.  I love the price match because I do a ton of shopping at walmart and some stores in my area are having killer deals on meat and produce.  Hope this helps!!

  18. I got my ad this morning and the spend $30 promo is calculated AFTER manfuacturer coupons.

    • what do you mean?

    • I just tried it out today, and it printed the cat, even though my total was $30 before coupons. I didn’t think it would, since I read the fine print too, but out came a $10 Cat, even though my total was only $2.12 after coupons.

    • Meridian Mama says:

Did 3 transactions on the $30 promo this morning, all just over $30 BEFORE coupons and the catalina printed all three times without a problem.

Also, I purchased the Huggies wipes in all 3 transactions and a $1/1 Huggies wipes coupon printed right along with the catalina. I had various number of wipe packages (1, 2 and 3 depending on transaction)and the same coupon printed all three times…

    • The fine print always read this. I have been shopping at Albertsons for years and the CATS have always printed for me with total requirment before coupons.

  19. WOO CROTTO says:

This question is for Mavis…  I am curious if the cats having been printing at the store you frequent before or after coupons?  I tried the P&G/Pepsi promo a couple weeks back at my local store with the Tostitos deal (instead of all Tostitos I purchased some half Doritos, don’t know if that threw the mix off) and the CAT’s didn’t print through the check out lane.  But, at the same store I prepaid for Propel at the Customer Service desk and I was suprised with the $5.00 CAT, my total was definitely below the $20.00s require after coupons.  Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, why one would trigger and the other would not.

    Thanks

  20. I would also love to see some scenarios on this great promo too!! This looks like a great promo but I don’t want to mess it up!! :} I usually do but would love some input from u gals!!

    • I second that motion. I love reading the scenarios that you guys put together. It helps put things into perspective. :)

  21. Has anyone placed an order for their double coupon trip? Every time I go to Albertsons the things I plan to buy are all gone. I wanted to place an order this time so my double don’t go to waste again. Do I talk to customor service and is there min number of one item the store requires before they’ll place an order? Thanks!

    • Desirea,

Check with your local Albertsons about pre-commit orders. I place these orders for sale items all the time with no minimum quantity. Pre-commit orders- you fill out a slip at the register for the item and quantity you want to purchase. The cashier will ring you up and you pay for your pre-commit order. They will contact you when your order comes in to pick it up. You can also call to preorder items, but pre-commits work out if you haven’t planned your trip at the beginning of the week. I hope this helps.

  22. Can I use the $10 from the $30 purchase towards my next transaction for the next $30?

  23. Ok Fab Fru Gals… here is my big question about the spend $30/ get $10 catalina deal.  It clearly states, “Minimum Purchase requirement calculated AFTER manufacturer coupons are redeemed”

    SO…

How do the doublers fit in here?  Do we just have to include the regular coupons in our math to get $30, then use 3 doublers and actually only pay $27 to get the catalina?  (doublers are STORE coupons, yes…?)

OR, will they include that $-3 in doublers in the total and we must still then break $30???

    • Here is how it works:  reach $30 before you use any coupons.  Than use your coupons and 3 doubles and bring your OOP lower.  Than receive your $10 cat.  Repeat. using your $10 from first transaction on your next one and receive another $10 cat.   The cat always prints for me if I reach the needed $ amount before I use any coupons.  :)   good luck!

  24. So, I am a little frustrated after running out to my alby’s on 5mile and overland in Boise to pick up my non DBLR items and to my dismay they were already sold out of the Oral B Toothbrushes and when I took a look at the .75/1 coupon it states that you have to buy  ORal B-Pulsay, 3dwhite or pro healt or complete toothbrush or 2 Indicator or Cavity Defense Manual Toothbrushes and the 10 for 10 deal is on the Cavity Defense ones… =(  Also I could not find Up2U gum any where not on the Bulk Candy Aisle or near any of the registers.  Any one have better luck on their walk throughs?  Thanks and Happy Couponing!!!
