All of these scenarios show you how to get the P&G $20 Holiday Rebate Offer, but if you did just one more transaction in some of these scenarios you could also qualify for the P&G Every Day Savings Rebate. Each rebate requires you to spend $50 before coupon, but the rebates have to be submitted individually with original receipts so must qualify for each rebate in a different transaction.
Since Leneya’s scenario did not work we will reward the groupon credit to Stephanie who was the first one to send us the pantene/fabreze scenario.

I can’t seem to locate this coupon in Idaho Use $1/1 Febreze Air Effects, P&G 11/28 = -1.00
I don’t think we got it. Anywhere else I can find it? The only one listed in your coupon data base expired Nov. 30. Will any of the 2.00 Febreze coupons we got work for it?
Has this all been verified true? Seems like the 30% would be taken off automatically and not count towards the 30? If true, might not print the 10 gift card deal? Just want to make sure works before I go?
Good point Alicia, I wonder?
The Cover Girl 30% off comes off automatically
So the winning scenario is a no go?
Thanks ladies I will update. Darn it.
The add says “minimum purchase requirement calculated AFTER manufacturer coupons”. All these scenarios are $30 BEFORE coupons….does anybody know they work for sure?
It is working before coupons.
I went to the Albertsons at McMillian and Eagle and the P&G promo is not working if you use coupons to bring the total to under $30. In addition, the net price of the Cover Girl after the 30% has been discounted needs to be used to get to $30. Basically, you have to actually spend the $30 to get the $10 gift card. So, the deals are not that great without the $10 discount. Has anyone been able to get the gift card with a net under $30 with coupons? If so, what store?
AJ said she did it just tonight. I am going to ask her to post about it!
I posted on the other Albertsons deals comments that I went to the Albies on McMillian and Eagle and had the same problem and the manager actually told me about another customer and the cover girl problem they had. Guess what it sounds like it was you?! Anyway the pantene and olay deal did not work for me either so I got a refund and they told me it was 30.00 after coupons and showed me the ad where it stated that. I got a refund but they would not give me my coupons back. I did 2 of these deals at the Eagle and 44 Albies the night before and it worked no problem. I would have gone back to that store but they would not give me my coupons back and luckily I did get the deal the night before I just wanted to stock up.
I found a $1/1 febreeze air effects coupon in he “organize in style” p&g home mailer i got from homemadesimple.com
I don’t understand how/why we can buy 4 shampoo and 4 conditioner and then use both the bogo coupons and the $1/2….can anyone explain? still learning here! thanks! I think what I understand is you use the bogo for the ‘free’ ones and the $1/2 for the ones that you are paying for..is that correct? and this is ok to do?
Michelle- Yes! You’ve got it and it is perfectly alright! The rule is one manufacturers coupon per item. Keep asking questions… it’s the best way to learn!
So glad all you ladies did the math and matching on these dofferent ideas!!! My brain is seriously non-functioning in the coupon department this week (Black Friday and Cyber Monday burnout possibly???). I couldnt even attempt to try to start a scenario!
Haha Sophie we are definitely feeling that!
Amen Sophie! {Thus the brilliant idea to reward our readers for doing the brain work for us this week! Ha ha!}
Seriously!! I havent felt brain fog like this in a while. Ive been at work all day everyday this week and I feel like I havent gotten a thing done!!!
So I don’t know if anyone has tried the P&G gift card thing yet, but something keeps making me feel uneasy about being able to buy an Albertson’s gift card with the coupon. When I went to Albertson’s web site, they have a link to the Gift Card Mall. Albertson’s is not listed as one of the retailers. You can get Visa cards there, so that might work, but there is a 3.95 charge for getting one of those. This whole thing may not end up being as good of a deal, unless you have other stores to do shopping at or want to give it as a gift (or a treat for yourself).
I have not tried it yet myself this time around, but the last time they did this promo you could get the Albertsons gift card. Pretty sure it will work.
It works! I was able to purchase all 4 of my $10 gift cards as Albertsons gift cards
I had trouble with the original deal. I tried the 9 CG eyeshadows, totaled to $15 (including tax etc.), the $3 coupon catalina printed, but not the $10 GC. They said that the total had to be $30 AFTER MQ.
So I returned all of the items (they did not give my coupons back, but luckily I had a lot of coupons to do another deal). I then got 10 CG eyeshadows, 2 Pantene shampoos, 2 Pantene conditioners, 1 Olay body wash, and 1 Olay lotion. I used the 5 $2.00/2 coupons for the CG, 2 BOGO free on the Pantene, and 1 buy one olay body wash and get one olay lotion free. Total was $33.39 before tax. It printed my $10 GC, and $3 catalina for CG.
Then I went to purchase the albertson’s GC (which is on the kiosk with the other Giftcard Mall gift cards), and they told me that I wouldn’t be able to get that since it’s not a pre-set amount. It couldn’t be a GC that needs to be loaded. It has to be one that already has a amt to deduct the coupon from. So….. I got the $25 visa gift card (can be used anywhere visa debit cards are accepted), with a $3.95 fee… that totaled to $18.95 out of pocket. However, I figure I can use it at albertsons, and we need to get groceries there anyway, so it’s just another way around… I still think I came out ahead since I still have yet to submit for the $20 rebate from P&G.
The whole ordeal took me 2 hrs to figure out how to double dip this deal LOL! Good luck to you all
Wow! Angel you are awesome. I am glad it worked out in the end. We are getting mixed reports on the Albertsons gift card. Hmm. I am really sorry if this was a waste of your time. THanks for being sweet and not getting mad.
That’s no one’s fault…. I’ve done things like that before (not realizing they had “fine print”). Stuff like that happens all the time in the couponing world LOL
It’s just finding a way to make it all work out. It really did work out (and was worth the time) since I made off with way more that $50 worth of P&G products AND a $25 gift card for probably about $30 OOP! How could I get mad about that
Thanks for providing this site. I love all of the deals that are posted! Good thing we have comments to give each other heads up. It always helps me out in the end. Just passing the help along.
You are so sweet!
Hey-
I have tried here in WA to get Albertson’s gift cards and they told me that they do not have them. The store manager and I looked all around the gift card area, and there were none. Then I tried to find a gift card for $10 and there were none, so I ended up getting a $20 gift card to Starbuck’s, as it was the lowest priced gift card they carried. So, the gift card idea is great, if you want gift cards, but you are not able to purchase more Alberston’s food with your gift card. This was confirmed by the manager checking with a district supervisor.
I don’t understand why they won’t give your coupons back when you return it immediately? Does anyone know why?
It irritates me too since they submit for the reimbursement of the coupons to their store – not us. Technically they make money on us when stuff like that happens. However, it would make their cash drawer short on cash when they count it out at the end of the night. At least that’s how they explained it to me.
Example:
If I bought something for $9.00 and paid $5.00 cash, but used $4.00 in coupons… they can’t reimburse me $9.00 in cash if I return it because then they would be short $4.00 in cash at the end of the night. They probably don’t count coupons in their till.
In my opinion they should since they get the cash from the manufacturers when they submit for reimbursement…. maybe that’s something we can bring to their attention at their corporate offices. Who knows… :/
Michelle, it’s because they can’t “credit’ a coupon.
The sale transaction and the return transaction are two independent transactions, regardless of the time that elapses in between. Two minutes or two weeks — it makes no difference. The two transactions don’t directly offset each other.
Using Angel’s example, say you buy an item for $9 and pay for it with a $4 coupon and $5 in cash. The store will subsequently be reimbursed by the mfg for the $4 coupon, as per standard procedure. Whether or not the item is later returned by the customer is irrelevant.
If you later return the item, you’ll get $9 back in cash, which is the full price that you paid for the item. And the store gets it’s product back. Coupons do not come into play at that point.
Make sense?
Pingback: So Cal Albertsons Grocery Deals | Fabulessly Frugal - Coupons, Grocery Store, Free Printable Coupons, Idaho, Washington, Oregon
I tried this in Portland today and my total before coupons was $38 and $18 after coupons, but did not get the GC catalina. I’ll try emailing the catalina company just in case, but I’m doubting that will work since it does say after coupons. Has anyone actually got the GC cat to print with a total less than $30 after coupons? If so…where are you?
I got it to print in Boise, Idaho. It was a $10 cat. that printed. The O”lay wasn’t working if you didn’t buy the right sizes. Double check your ad, and ask at customer service. i did two transactions, the firs one printed a cat, and the 2nd one didn’t because it was the wrong size of O’lay that I bought. Good luck!

Thanks for the great scenarios. I just bought 10 bottles of Pantene, 4 bottles of olay, and 9 eyeshadows all to donate to the City of light all for a super good price at Albertson’s. I love the high of couponing and the opportunity it has given me to donate so much more than ever before! Love, love, love your sight!!
Thanks Robin! Glad to hear you had success – and for such a wonderful cause. We love YOU too!
I went to my favorite Albies tonight on 12th and 7th in Nampa and here’s what happened: I went in fully expecting the deal not to work. But I wanted to try it so we could let you know first hand what was going on. If you can believe it, I am almost out of shampoo. I thought I had enough to last forever and then got one off of the shelf and there were no more behind it…crisis, ladies…but I digress…
So I bought 6 bottle of shampoo and 4 bottles of conditioner and took them up to the register with an Albertson’s Gift Card in my hand. Before the checker even started to ring me up, I told him what deal I was doing and asked if I could use the $10 Gift Card Mall credit on the Albertson’s card. He said yes, that’s no problem, but they’ve been having issues with people buying Pantene that’s not on the sale and then the cat won’t print. I made sure mine were all marked as being on sale when I chose them, so I told him it should be okay.
And I was perfectly honest with him about the cat printing after using coupons and told him I didn’t know if it would work but wanted to try. So we did. And after I swiped my card to pay I stood there watching that green light on the catalina machine hoping for it to start blinking…you’ve all been there. And it did!
So the end of this long story is this: they did let me use my cat for and Albies gift card, and the $10 cat DID print even after they scanned my coupons. The end
Well, not really because I need to go back and buy some paper towels, but for now…
Has anyone in the Idaho Falls area tried this yet? I’m going to this morning but was hoping to know what I was liable to get myself into before I go!! Most of my purchase will be the Pantene shampoo/conditioner. I decided that even if the GC falls through it’s still a good deal for the shampoo. I’ll let you know how I did!!
I did the deal on wednesday and got a cat each time. in ammon. i haven’t done the pantene deal yet, but hoping to head in soon.
Worked great in the Ammon store! Wish I had some more Pantene coupons!!
Tonight I tried doing Jessica’s 2nd transaction from her scenario. I used the same coupons and ended up paying way more. Is the math wrong in her transaction for her coupons? Here is how the transaction went for me:
4 Olay Body Wash ($5.99 each): $23.96
4 Olay Body Lotion (6.99 each): $27.96
2 Pantene Shampoo: $7
Used (4) Buy 1 Olay Body Wash get 1 Olay Lotion Free 11/28 P&G
Used (1) Buy 1 Pantene get 1 Pantene Shampoo Free 11/28 P&G
Total: $58.92
Coupons: -$29.46
Albies GC: -$10.00
Oop: 19.46
I was a little shocked with the total oop when it wasn’t $7 like Jessica’s. It’s okay though because I think I might have enough with other purchases to turn in 2 rebates if my mom will let me put one in her name.
Haha now my math was wrong! Sorry I should have put this above instead:
Total: $58.92
Coupons: -31.46
Albies GC: -$10.00
Oop: $17.46
I guess if I take into account the $10 gift card that I got for this transaction it is like I only paid 7.46.
Yeah it looks like since she had it for her second transaction she already had a $10 gc to use towards it from the first transaction which made her true oop $7.46.
I guess I should have said before that I did a different transaction first & got a $10 gift card. I then used that gift card from my first transaction for this one. That’s why I don’t understand why our oops are different. We did everything the same but it looks like when she did it her coupons gave her an extra 10 dollars.
