Seriously. I MADE money “buying” all of this (is it still considered buying if they pay you?). And you can even do it for less, as there are cheaper filler items available. {See this on video}
One of the receipts shows $3.89 instead of $3, as I was overcharged by $.89 for Hamburger Helper. They reimbursed me in cash. (View the breakdown of rolling transactions)

Purchased 53 items (please pretend you see 2 $1 Darigold 16 oz chocolate milks that can now be found in my daughters’ bellies! Got them free by doubling the $1/2 SS-9/12)
Paid $16.30 OOP (all totals are pretax, as it varies so much from state to state)
Received $5 Register Reward
Received $25 Albertsons Gift Card (to earn I used the above catalina that printed with my 1st transaction and transferred a prescription to their pharmacy)
Final price $13.70 MONEYMAKER!! That’s $.25 profit per item!
I went to 3 stores (Albies and WalgreensX2) and did it in 9 transactions. I left plenty for others (for you locals, the Cole/Fairview store has lots of EVERYTHING). I won’t be spelling out the Albertsons transactions, as Featured F.A.B. Becky did a great job of that yesterday and I’m afraid you guys might be sick of scenarios. If you want the Albies breakdown just let me know in the comments & I can add them (You wanted them! And here they are!!! {Albertsons Grocery Deal Scenarios}. But here is how the Walgreen’s transactions played out:
TRANSACTION #1:
Buy 3 John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care 3/$15
Use 3 $3/1 SS-8/22 (I bought more HERE)
Pay $6 OOP
Get $5 RR
TRANSACTION #2:
Buy 1 Impruv Lotion 6.8 oz $4.99
Buy 1 Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste 4 oz $2.99
Buy 1 filler item ($.39 candy in my case-you can find $.10 pencils to lower OOP)
Use $1/1 SS-9/12 Colgate
Use 1 $2/1 printable coupon Impruv
Use $5 RR from Tran. #1
Pay $.37 OOP
Get $4 RR (lotion) and a $2 RR (toothpaste)
TRANSACTION #3:
Buy 3 John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care 3/$15
Buy 2 filler items (2 $.39 candies in my case)

Use $4 RR and $2 RR from Tran. #2

REPEAT TRANSACTION #3

Like paying $3.30 for all 19 items!
One of the John Frieda products alone would cost you $5.97 at Walmart!!

I was wondering if the RR’s for John Freida was still going… I didn’t see them in the paper, but I must have over looked! YAY!!
And here I am… Looking for a LIKE button

Impruv coupon is not printing!
I am still such a beginner with all the couponing that I would be interested in your scenarios that you used at Albertson’s. Doublers and added stress for me and i still struggle with knowing how to set it all up to maximize my coupons. Way to go!!!
I would love to see the scenarios. I’m still learning the scenarios with albies and the ones posted before helped me a great deal last night! I appreciate all that you girls do!
Can we please see your albies scenarios
YOU ROCK AMBER!
I would like to see how you bought all the items at albertsons.
Thanks a bunch,
Carrie
So, is there a CAT running for the regular Hamburger Helper? I saw that there was supposed to be one for the “Skillet” type but then saw on here that you might be getting it with the regular type as well? Is the Skillet type a part of the GM promo?
It’s really none of my business and I hate to sound like a Negative Nancy but everyone should keep in mind the long term health care repercussions and cost of consuming these types of processed foods – the pizza rolls, hamburger helper and pizza rolls have got to contain trans fat, and the cereals are loaded with sugar. I work with heart patients on a daily basis and they are getting younger and younger each day. Sometimes the savings isn’t really worth it. (And maybe you spread all of these foods out to last an entire year, in which case it isn’t so bad!)
Nice work though, the savings is inspiring.
Amber,
Great point! Because I work in the fitness industry, I also see the repercussion of unhealthy diets. We won’t eat the Hamburger Helper at all so I’m donating all of them, but I do allow my children sugar cereals every 3 days (we rotate between eggs, oatmeal & cereal). I believe everything in moderation is fine. I try to make sure my children always have healthy options available, but I also believe in splurging. It’s finding that balance.
My kids only get sugar cereal on weekends (and I’ll admit that I eat it occasionally in the evening when everyone is asleep – in lieu of ice cream!)
wow cathy- i’m impressed! i would never trade my ice-cream for sugar cereal!
I haven’t had ice cream since it was super cheap in March!
I typically do not use processed foods but I do store them in care of emergency. We try to keep our camper stocked in case we need to “bug out” quickly. The hamburger helper meals can be prepared without a meat and can be prepared quickly and are filling. I also have them for the kids to use if I’m out of town or we have a situation where we need something quickly. Moderation I believe is the key to everything!!!
The lotion coupon is out of prints
It said that a few days ago & then it started printing again for some people. It looks like they added more prints. I would keep checking back to see if that’s the case again or if it is really capped this time.
Question: When you transfer a prescription does it have to be a usual prescription like some you get everything month or when your kids get sick and need amoxucillin you can get it?? Does that make sense?
That’s a great question Brye. It says ANY prescription that hasn’t previously been filled there, so I would assume it could be either.
do you just give the coupon to who ever transfers the perscription? or how do you get the 25.00 gift card?
Yep. Just take the coupon to the pharmacy!
Maybe someone who still has an Impruv couo can take a good pic of it and we can then just print it out that way. Works all the timefor me!
that is illegal!!!! they do not honor copies of copons no matter how you copied them. PLEASE DO NOT COPY COUPONS! it is bad for you and the stores. You are shooting yourself in the foot and the rest of us in the back if you copy coupons. The stores will quit honoring printables if we do not follow the rules and the law (it is fraud if you copy coupons and there can be bad legal reprocousions) anywho DON”T COPY COUPONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! Manufactures will not reimbuse the stores for a copied coupon so you are litteraly stealing from the store when you use a copied coupon.
Desiree,
I’m sure you were doing it very innocently, but Tyree is right. Copying coupons of any kind is illegal. While they might scan just fine, the stores will still not be reimbursed for them. Manufacturers put certain watermarks & other security features to detect a copied coupon. They will not reimburse a penny to a store for a copied coupon. Seems like a piece of paper with a coupon on it is just a piece of paper, right? Well the manufacturers set a limit on the number of coupons they want to release. Once they are gone, they are gone. That typically means their marketing dollars for that item are gone or their desire to push a certain product is over. Hope that helps!!
Which SS was the John Frieda in?
Where on the site is the Impruv coupon?
