Pepsi Deal at Walgreens

I’m not sure if this is happening at every Walgreens, but the brand new one on Five Mile and Lake Hazel has Pepsi 12 packs 4/$8, and THEN a $5 Register Reward!! (they ring up $2.50 each, and they use 2 $1 manufacturer coupons they have at the register) So 4/$3!!!!

I think all the other Walgreens have it 4/$12, then a 4 RR… so this is FANTASTIC!!! 75 cents for a 12 pack!!! (you do have to buy 4). They are down to just Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, but expect the truck to come with more early Friday.

Thanks Becky!

We also got an email from Emily letting us know of a situation she encountered that is definitely worth passing on:

I just wanted to pass along some info from my Albertsons. I adore my 7th & 12th store and while I was there one of my favorite checkers told me 2 ladies continued to come into the store and take peelies (off Chinet paper plates, I think) and leave the store with them.  They were finally caught and asked NOT to return to the store. My checker wanted me to pass the info along to all my blog friends and let them know they are super unhappy about it.  She went on about how they lose money, how dishonest it is, and how shocked she was to hear that women do it.  I just wanted to share the news because I love my Albertsons and would be crushed if I was told never to return.

Thanks Emily for the reminder.  I wouldn’t want to be asked not to return either, and my favorite checker EVER works at that store…I bet it’s the same one!

  1. The store I shop at does not keep peelies on any product! No tear pads or hangers either th ey pull them all because people take thewhole thing so they keep them and just put up signs that they r at the registers

  2. I have actually seen on a few blogs that they (the people writing the blogs) don’t think taking peelies off is a problem, as long as you intend to use them on the same product. I do not agree with that, either–if you’re not going to purchase the item with the coupon on it, then don’t take the coupon off. It’s just wrong.

  3. Tiffany says:

A friend of mine spotted ladies at the eagle and mcmillian store taking all the peelies off the same item… when they finally noticed her standing there they offered to give her 3 so she could get some of the plates!! Pretty rude in my opinion!

  4. It is theft. There is no way around it. The stores pay extra to have the items brought in with peelies on them. When a thief comes in and steals them off the packages to use at another store, the store that purchased the peelies loses money. It is no different than someone coming in and stealing a pack of gum and leaving the store with it.

Stealing peelies or tear pads will cause the stores to stop offering them. It is simple as that. Any blogger posting that it is okay to steal should be held responsible as well and tagged as an unreliable source in our couponing community.

  5. TIffany, I just read your comment and I have thought about how best to respond. I was one of those ladies at that store and I feel so bad that your friend didn’t speak up. I offered sets of three to every single person that walked by because I was trying to share the coupon love. My assumption was that people did not know about the deal and I wanted to share the info… I handed out two sets to people who didn’t even know how the couponing worked (and consequently explained it to them.). If your friend had said something, I would have gladly given her more. As to removing all the peelies…I only took them off so that I could remove all of the stickyness prior to checking out. I used every single one of them that day on chinet plates.

  6. I was the other lady of the tandem set of women seen at Albertsons at Eagle/McMillan. I would like to caution everyone to not be so judgemental. I too, used every single coupon I peeled off that day. I bought a lot of plates. I have six kids and we use A LOT of paper plates. And with the peelie….it was a great deal on that special purchase made by Albertsons. We shared coupons with nearly everyone that came by. Making sure if they only took three, that they didn’t want more. ANd we did NOT take every one of them. Several gals didn’t even know what couponing was…I explained, so did my friend……..I had a lady reach out to me (who was there with her mother) to say thank you after she checked out. “It worked like a charm” she said. I stole nothing!!!!!

Taking a peelie to sell on EBay is theft. Taking peelies off while in the store to use at the checkstand (or later at the SAME store with a better sale!!) is just that….shopping for a deal.
And those particular peelies were sticky. THey had to be removed and then the sticky sides taken off to not have them all stick together and tear.

I feel bad that people assume they know the story all the time. They don’t. None of us do.
