Kellogg’s Cereal/Free Milk Promo
There are some awesome scenarios with this whether you have coupons and doublers or not. BECAUSE, when you buy your milk with the free coupons, it takes off the full value of the coupon ($4.19). So you buy the cheap milk and put the overage towards more cereal! So, I have worked out scenarios on just about every way to do this, but wasn’t sure if you are interested in doing a post on it as well. Think – 7 boxes of Kelloggs and 3 gallons of milk for 83 cents plus tax, remembering that tax will be on all the coupons, except the double coupons. Also remember that your first transaction you will pay more out of pocket because you won’t have the milk coupons to use – so just buy the seven boxes of cereal with 3 MCs and 3 doublers (don’t buy milk the first transaction).
1ST TRANSACTION
buy 7 boxes @ $1.79 = 12.53
use 3 MCs (from RP 3/7) and 3 doubler = -$6
Pay $6.53 OOP plus tax!
Get back 3 free milk coupons ($4.19 each)
EACH TRANSACTION AFTER THE FIRST:
Buy 7 boxes of cereal @ $1.79 each = $12.53
Buy 3 gallons of the off brand milk @ $2.29 each =+ $6.87
= 19.40 + tax
- 6 (Use 3 coupons for -$1/2 boxes and 3 doublers)
- 12.57 (Use your 3 free milk coupons @ 4.19 off each)
= $.83 plus tax for 7 boxes of cereal and 3 gallons of milk
There are 5 cereals that I know of priced at the $1.79, other cereals will be more than that.
And coupons are plentiful on ebay! Here is the link for ebay coupons or find them in the RP 3/7!
There are lots of other scenarios – but I like this one the best! Thanks Tricia!
Click for the rest of Albertsons hot deals this week!

zipcode 40205 at coupons.com for some reason has 2 McCormick coupons.
Thanks Alicia!
There is a $1/1 coupon for Ronzini pasta in the April issue of “First for Women” magazine, which is the one with the bright green cover on newstands now. It will make for free pasta with the Albertsons sale this week.
The magazine is $2.49, so not worth buying for this coupon alone. But there are other coupons in there too. Here is a list of the ones I clipped:
Ronzini pasta $1/1 exp 10/15/10
Yogi cereal or granola crisps $1/1 exp 5/17/10. Two of these on different pages.
Stouffer’s Easy Express $1/1 exp 4/30/10
Edy’s ice cream $1/1 exp 4/30/10
New York Texas Toast $1/1 exp 4/30/10
Kotex “U” product $1/1 exp 6/10/10
Colgate Max toothpaste $.75/1 (not sure of the exp date since I used it already). Good to use at Walgreens this month where it’s on sale for $2.99 with a $2 RR.
There were a few other coupons in the magazine that I didn’t clip, some makeup and I think some pet food items. And there are also some recipes in there that look good.
Hopefully this info will help people decide whether its worth it to buy the magazine.
If you are a coffee drinker – the buy 2 Tully’s coffee for $10, plus get free eggs seems like a good deal to me
Not a super crazy, deal of a lifetime, must clear all albertsons of all Tully’s coffee and hoard hundreds of bags, LOL – but decent for a coffee drinker like me that goes through this fast
Hey There, I am new to this whole couponing world, and I appreciate your blog very much. It has been so helpful in teaching me how and where to start. Thanks for all the hard work you do.
I do have a question though. On the McCormick spices deal, in order to use the four $1/1 coupons, will I have to do four seperate transaction, or just one? How does that all work?
Nope just one transaction. Use one coupon for each item.
5/$1 on the limes is a great deal too!
did I write that right? 5 limes for a dollar just in case that was confusing.
Thanks Tiffany, that is a good deal. Hmm strawberry/lime smoothie this week?
That is a good price. Last week they were 2 for $1. I used them for my filler with the post deal. We use a lot of limes around here. I bought 9 last week and I only have 1 left. So I will be buying more. Thanks.
Shannon – what are you doing with all your limes?
Cathy – I got this recipe from another site during another good lime sale. This is DELICIOUS!
BRAZILIAN LEMONADE
By Sheila
2 limes
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
3 cups water
1. Wash limes thoroughly. Cut off ends and slice into eight wedges. Place limes in a blender with the sugar, sweetened condensed milk and water.
2. Blend in an electric blender, pulsing 5 times. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove rinds. Serve over ice.
I was looking for a different recipe, but couldn’t find it – it was a coleslaw with lime juice in it….thought you could use up your cabbage and some limes at the same time.
Thanks for thinking of me and my cooking issues! My family is getting tired of the same ol stuff! This sounds yummy!
We ate Carne Asada on Sunday. We are Mexican food fans. We use it on the meat and then we make pico de gallo with it. BUT, the real use is I am a diet Dr. Pepper Freak with lime! So everyday a few slices go there. I know I really need to break that but sometimes that is my enjoyment. So why take it away? I love limes.
I was at Albies this morning and the cream cheese cat didn’t print, anyone else have that problem? Also, the only food coloring is the multi-colored ones in the little tubes, not the bottles w/just one color. And vanilla is the only extract on sale, not any others. Just FYI!
My catalina didn’t print either.
Is All Bran included in the kellogs deal?
does anyone know if the catalina that smith’s is running is running at albertson’s. for every 15.00 you spend on hershey’s candy you get 5.00 your next order.
Thanks,
Lynn
My checkers have always adjusted the free milk coupon down to the actual price of the milk. I guess it just depends on your checker!
My checker also adjusted the price down to the price of the milk – no overage. She told me that they’re just supposed to give the price of the milk. I was okay with this … Free milk is still pretty great!
Katie – These free milk coupons automatically scan as $4.19 off. They are not the type that beep and require the cashier to input the actual price of the milk. I have checked with my favorite store and verified this is how they do it! Other stores might do it differently, so YMMV but I think it’s worth it to shop where they don’t!
Do you mind telling me which Albertsons you checked with if you are local? Even though the coupon doesn’t beep, last time my checker looked up the milk price, voided the $4.50 (it was $4.50 when I did it) and typed in $2 something off. I was kinda bummed because I would have gotten chocolate if I would have known!!!
I just went to Albertsons here in Caldwell and bought 4 of the BOGO McCormics spices, using the $1 off of each. The problem is that I didn’t get a catalina! (Actually stood there and waited for a few minutes, LOL)
Should I just return the spices? Or is there something I can do- I LOVE the free or overage deal…
Seanne – The catalina is only good on food coloring or extracts, not spices.
o.k. I’m new to all this… on the Kellog’s scenario: the 3 doublers??? where do i get those, am i using 6 different coupons, and then does the milk coupon print w/my reciept??
Sarah – You may want to check out our doubles 101 post here: http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/doubles-101
The milk coupon will print from the little machine next to where the receipt prints. If you want, you can do another transaction right then and USE that catalina that printed from the first. HEre is a post all about catalinas: http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/2009/01/what-are-catalinas.html
are there doublers coming out on Sunday, or did I miss some from last week?
There will be Sunday doubles THIS coming Sunday.
with the free milk coupon – what is the expiration date on it?
If I get 3 milk coupons, I would only want to be using one Q at a time.
I could not drink 3 gallons all within the same week.
I’m waiting until Monday to do mine with doubles so I haven’t checked yet for sure, but catalinas normally expire 2 weeks from the date that you receive them. Double check – but that’s the way they usually work. Also, you can look at the expiration dates on the milk you purchase because it’s normally at least 2-3 weeks out I think.
All three of mine said April 7th.
All three of my milk catalina have the SAME expiration date. Last year they staggered the dates but not this time.
Milk freezes well!
When the doublers come i am going to get a few boxes of Ronzoni pasta. I didnt buy any last time it was on sale, so I have room. There are some printable coupons for .75/1 Smart Taste and $1/2 Healthy Harvest on ronzoni’s website and they were listed as $1 in the ad. If you have two computers you can get 2 of each coupons. And that is 10 boxes of pasta for free. Perfect amount to stock me up!
Ok so my brain was not adding correct, you can get 6 boxes with the coupons on two computers, I have three computers and was counting my own coupons. Which still doesnt add up, not sure what happened to my math skills.
Ok so I meant to post that under the Albertsons weekly match up. Oops!
Does anyone know which variety of Kellogg’s cereals are on sale at Albertsons?
At least 5 of them are at the $1.79 price point: 20 oz raisin bran, 12 oz rice krispies, frosted flakes, frosted mini wheat, and fruit loops (can’t remember the sizes on the last ones.) There might be more at that price, and others are probably on sale, but I didn’t get there today to check.
Thanks Tricia!
There are also corn flakes, cocoa krispies, honey smacks, corn pops & apple jacks. And its seems like the only frosted mini wheats that are at $1.79 are the big bite variety. =0)
My free milk didn’t have overage either
He typed in the price of the milk & took that off. A cashier I had last week did the coupon amount, so maybe I’ll just have to look for her next time. Bummer, but at least I got free milk!
I asked about that today and they said corporate has cracked down because of the deal last week with the general mills cereal free milk. She said you can only get one milk but how ever expensive you want up to 4 something. Bummer. Would have made for some good deals. Although now I have 3 coupons for free milk that all have to be used by the 8th. YIKES> Good thing my husband likes cereral. haha
On Sunday’s do albertson’s have extra twice the value coupons??
We have heard that they will be in the Sunday paper.
Is it a better deal to buy the McCormicks 2 at a time in separate transactions? What is the cat amount when you only buy two?
McCormick Extracts or Coloring (3/19-4/11)
Buy 2, get $1.50 oyno
Buy 3 or more, get $2.50 oyno
Has anyone actually had the catalina print for buying the Philadelphia cream cheese? I bought 4 yesterday and no cat. Has this been confirmed by anyone?
I can confirm it did not work for me!
I just tried it today with the kraft promo and did not print, then rang them all seperatley with customer service with no coupons/promo and still did’nt print. hmmm.
IT should probably be taken off the main post until it is confirmed to work.
Thanks I will put a note up there.
Anyone know if the Nampa stores are allowing the overage for the free milk? Thanks
I just got back from town. I tried to buy 4 vanilla extracts and the catalina didn’t print. The extracts were quite expensive so I returned them. I forgot to get my 4 coupons back from the checker so I’m sad about that (I maybe would have just used them later at Winco). The extract was expensive, and even after the BOGO free & the coupons it didn’t seem like a great price.
I got some diapers at Walgreens, and I’m happy with the price there. This is what I did:
3 pkg huggies @ $8.99
used 3 $3.00 off coupons -$9.00
used coloring book coupon -$3.00
Total OOP w/ out tax: $14.97
Get $5.00 RR
Total (with RR) $3.32 per package ($.12 per diaper when buying size 5)
The Walgreens cashier told me if they are out of the size I want I can buy another size and exchange them later. I thought that was helpful since they were out of size 3 (Rexburg Walgreens).
I’m happy with the money I saved. I’m not happy about the $50.00+ that it cost me to fill up my van on the way out of town
. You win some, you loose some right?
PS Thanks for the FABULOUS website!
I checked out the spices for the sale and I think I am going to use my McCormick coupons at Winco also, or Walmart is another good place to use them. With doublers it may be a good deal though – but i usually just use them at Winco and have gotten a nice little stockpile of spices going on!
I’m confused??? Does the Kellogs/Milk deal go thru next week? I was going to make my Alb’s trip tomorrow, but I might wait if the doublers and Kellogs/Milk promo is next week to. Please help my tired brain!
Thanks.
KT
Yep KT, the Kelloggs/free milk deal goes through Tuesday (at least – I don’t remember if it extends beyond.) I would wait until Monday or Tuesday because there are doublers in the Sunday paper.
Nevermind…I got it. I will shop after Sunday! Pays off if you read the small print…Oops!
I tried the Kellogg and milk deal today in Boise. The milk coupon beeps when it is scanned and then the cashier has to manually put in the price of the milk. So I didn’t get all my cereal and milk for .83, but I did get free milk. Also, I bought 5 cream cheeses and did not get a catalina.
Thanks for the update.
